1. Project presentation
1.1 Why did we choose this topic?
We think that it was an interesting topic because we have been watching it for many years.
1.2 Question
Our question is: Do teenagers find a role model to follow in Disney Channel?
1.3 Hyphotesis
We think that teenagers find role models to follow on disney channel but we don’t see them as a real model because we lived or we are living the same situations as them, and we believe that if they could moved on why we can’t do the same? And that’s why we focus on follow their lifestyle. On the other hand, we don’t see them as role models because there’s people who don’t like the things they do or how they act. They can influence in two ways: positively and negatively. We’ve got the information from the internet, different websites, newspapers, interviews from that stars... Our opinion is not clear at all but through the investigation work: questionnaires and articles we will arrive to a final conclusion done by the end of the work.

This graphic shows clearly the type of influence that Miley Cyrus has on the teenagers. Her influence was really positive when he was on Disney Channel because she dedicated herself on representing every teenage dream of being a star. Now that she started her solo career and her style changed, the influence gone from very ● ● ● ● ●
positive to negative for these reasons: Provocative acts: their performance and twerking with Robin Thicke in VMA'13. In her single called ‘Wrecking Ball’’ was completely naked. She likes minimal amount of clothing. Singles singing about partying with ecstasy and cocaine videos that appear topless touching. In USA people say that the one who is beside Miley’s change is his manager Larry Rudolph.

Cyrus came to stage with a provocative dress. The artist, who’s 22 years old, sang some songs and didn’t stop inciting the public. She said: ‘’I don’t smoke marijuana and I don’t drink the days I have concerts, but I thought it would be right to do it here in Miami.’’ The singer showed during his performance a silver wig Egyptian style, a white thong and two pieces of cloth that hang from her neck and her chests were not covered.

In this graphic we see the positive influence Demi Lovato had in Disney Channel because she was a clearly example of a teenager girl nowadays. She was a humble girl and hardworking. When she started his solo career the amount of fans and audience decreased, because she always has been more discreet on the music’s world. Although her career has been less influential than Miley’s, many people followed Demi’s example in their personal problems. During his childhood she suffered bullying. When she was 7, she started having suicidal thoughts. In 2010 she entered in a rehabilitation center to fight for an eating disorder and other problems they took her to be hospitalized for treatment. Herself confirmed that her admission to rehab was for alcohol and drugs and also for her eating disorders problems and esteem.

In the serie is reflected the love, friendship, discrimination, music, dancing, the beautiful girls and the ugly ones, school life, intrigue, loves and heartbreaks, and dreams to come true. But that’s not what we really see in real life, ‘’Patito Feo’’ what really promotes is: -Songs that help young people to have prejudices against people by their appearance and especially inculturation. -They force girls to dress and act like ‘’Las divinas’’.

They see reflected in Violetta a perfect friendship story, love, sincerity and honesty. From a critical point of view, Violetta doesn’t reflect that ‘’good image’’ she wants. Violetta tens to have content that we see today in adults fiction. You can also see competitions among peers or struggle to become a star. The love triangle that the characters live not seems to provide nothing more than the curiosity that lets knowing who will be chosen by the protagonist.

4. Conclusions Over the years it has been noticed a huge difference on Disney Channel. Disney Channel has always been characterized by the constant teen series that all they broadcast are inadequate public attitudes. Somehow we’ve always had the idea that every girl and boy out of that tv series have to be a role model just by the fact they are beautiful, winners or successful… But it’s true that if we start comparing actual Disney Channel with the same one years ago the difference is almost null. Disney Channel doesn’t characterize for being an innovative channel, their series always have the same topic (someone always has to stand out above everyone). That’s why is uncertain that Disney Channel is an appropriate channel. And is mainly reflected in the girls changes, they go from being the typical good girls, responsibles...to live a uncontrolled life just for the success, fame…
