David Pree ce My Story
My name is David Preece I live in Tonteg, Pontypridd with my parents I turned 21 last Sunday
I used to attend Ysgol Hen Felin in the Rhondda
It was at school in 2010 that I first worked with ELITE.
I completed a Work Awareness Course with Elite in October 2010. During this course we learnt lots of things about work and we went on visits to lots of different work places
It was during this course that I completed my first ever work experience with support from an Elite job trainer. My work experience was at ‘Your Pets Warehouse’ in Tonypandy.
I was referred to the Real Opportunities project by my school in 2011 and because I wanted to continue to learn about work, Elite continued working with me through the Real Opportunities Project.
I completed a Travel Awareness Course with Elite in 2011, this allowed me to catch public transport on my own and get a certificate.
Shortly after completing the travel course I completed my 2ND work experience. This time I went to CafĂŠ Rana in Tonteg.
During my work experience I worked really hard and must have impressed the boss because he offered me a job.
I have now been working there for over 2 ½ years. Here is a short film to show you my story.
I would really like to thank Elite and the Real Opportunities Project. Without their help I wouldn’t have been able to learn so much about work and get a job.
