IONITE is my bachelor thesis project that I’ve developed in about six months’ time in collaboration with “Falmec”, an Italian company that designs air purifying systems, and with the planning support of my tutor Paolo Bartoli. Ionite is an intelligent device designed for the bedroom. Its purpose is to benefit the individual’s psychological and physical well-being by improving sleep quality, as well as prior - and post - sleep phases. All this is made possible by the cooperation of an ionisation process, together with a sound system and a LED light system, which synergistically remove what seem to be the main causes of poor sleeping conditions: indoor pollution, circadian rhythm disorders, and stress. In particular, Ionite’s intentions are to: • Reduce insomnia or similar sleeping disorders thanks to a positive air ionisation process. • Facilitate the waking and falling asleep phases thanks to the simulation of sunrise and sunset lights. • Reduce stress levels and stimulate relaxation thanks to the reproduction of sounds and music purposely designed to facilitate sleep or ease a more delicate waking.

The
Desalto
project
com-
prehends “Phi table” and “Balance chair”, and has been developed during the second year of University for a renowned Italian furniture company: Desalto. The aim of the work was to design a table and a chair that were close to the company’s style and values, respecting its iconic and minimal design. The 3D model were created using Rhinoceros 5 and the renderings using KeyShot 6.

4. tri -hangle NOV 2017 - DEC 2017 #POLITECNICO DI MILANO
The
project
Tri-hang-le
took part in the International Design Award 2016 announced by the Italian furniture company Porada. The goal for this project was to design a coat hanger that was in compliance with the company’s design principles and with its love for wood.
5. revolve MAR 2016 - JULY 2016 #POLITECNICO DI MILANO
Revolve project’s aim was to re-design an existing ironing board produced by the partner company Colombo NewScal, using the same materials and the same working processes. “Revolve” is the re-design of the product “Alluminia” and its purpose is to ease the ironing of large laundry such as bed sheets or bath towel. For this project, the 3D models were created using Solidwork while the renderings using Keyshot and Photoshop.

6. photomatching NOV 2016 - DIC 2016 #POLITECNICO DI MILANO
This work shows a Photomatching
process:
from
a real photograph of the orange juicer to a computer made model placed in the same position. The 3D modelling part has been made with Rinoceros, the computer - made render with KeyShot and, at the end, the render has been put into place using PhotoShop, adjusting the colour, the light, the reflections and the shadows to make it look like the original one, but with a more professional post-production look.
7. 3D modeling MAY 2016 - JULY 2016 #POLITECNICO DI MILANO
The aim of this work was to disassemble an old toaster and reproduce it entirely on Solidworks - internal structures and small details included. Once every piece had been modelled, I assembled them virtually and imported the finished model on 3ds max to render. The picture at the top is a photograph I took of the real toaster, the one below is the digital render. On the right there is an exploded view of all the 3D modeled parts that made up the toaster.
