Now that we are officially in to the golf season, I want to share some friendly reminders while you’re at the club.
Please take a look at the following videos regarding Divots, Bunkers and Ball Marks. While these videos are light-hearted in nature, the subject matter is serious when playing. Taking care of the golf course should be a priority for every member and your guests.

Pace Of Play
4 hours and 9 minutes for a foursome is the standard pace of play. If you are playing in a twosome, threesome, or early in the morning your pace of play should be significantly faster. Play the appropriate tees for your ability and play ready golf at all times!
Overnight Bag Storage
Beginning this month we will also be charging a nightly fee of $20 per night for any golf bags that are left overnight, but do not have bag storage purchased. This will be enforced daily. We understand golf bags can be accidentally left overnight, and members may be playing the next day and may want to leave their bags for convenience. We have 180 members that pay an annual fee for bag storage and to retain fairness, we will be instituting the fee to those that do not have annual bag storage. Accidentally, leave your bag and pick it up, and are not playing the following day? No problem, the fee will be removed. This will help ensure that bag storage does not get abused, and we maintain accountability for our members golf bags overnight.
Alcohol
Please note, that outside alcohol is strictly prohibited. It will violate our liquor license if you bring your own alcohol onto the property and we will ask you to remove it immediately.
Posting Your Score
Beginning April 1st, you must post your score after every round. Maintaining a Handicap Index enables you a wide range of competitive golf opportunities. At Laurel Creek you must post your score on the day you play after every round. Need a handicap? See a member of our team to get you set up!
Golf weather is finally here, and the LCWGA has had an exciting month.
We are thrilled to announce that our WGAP team went undefeated this season! In our final match at Applebrook on May 9th our team started the day in 2nd place, behind the 1st place home team, and we won 4-3 to clinch the title and bring home the cup. Eileen Ramasamy kept everyone on the edge of their seats at lunch by playing extra holes and coming in victorious after 20 to break the 3-3 tie. Linda Toogood and Donna McHugh both had solid wins that day, as did Christine Blessing with a 74, her best round ever. Congratulations ladies! And congrats to the rest of our 2023 team: Ineke Daniels, Eileen Burke, Susan Schaming, Stephanie Moccia, Susan Kaufman, Eileen Kennedy, Nikki Faubell, Gina Kassak, Mary Beth Taras, Lynne Demmerly, Chrissy Duman, Kelly Redcay, Rita Gordon and Joanne Seltzer. Great season!
The Laurel Legends 9 Holer Match Play Team was away at the Moorestown Field Club on May 18th.
Our first Jersey Girls match of the season was May 24th at Medford Lakes. The team of Lynne Demmerly, Chrissy Duman, Rita Gordon, Susan Kaufman, Ineke Daniels and Eileen Burke took on teams from not only Medford Lakes, but also Little Mill and Medford Village. We’re proud to announce that our team earned 191 points in this Stableford event to put Laurel Creek in 1st place so far for the season. Way to go ladies!
As a reminder, it’s not too late to join the LCWGA. All ladies with full golfing privileges are eligible. Sign up now and you can still participate in our Member/Member events on June 7th and June 14th. These events are for both the 9 Holer and 18 Holer groups. If you have any questions, or would like a membership application, please reach out to Kelly Redcay at kellyanneredcay@hotmail.com.
Rules Tip of the Month
Loose Impediments vs Movable Obstructions: 2 Things you need to know
Loose impediments are natural and unattached where as movable obstructions are things that are made my humans, artificial and are easily moveable. If you cause the ball to move by removing a loose impediment, you must replace the ball and add one penalty stroke. If you cause the ball to move when moving a movable obstruction, you still must replace the ball, but there is no penalty.
