delicate decay is a trend for the modern women, thick knits form structure and lines, to contrast against flowing chiffon in some parts, and creating shapes in others. voluminous silhouettes create amplified shape, which is needed throughout winter months. knitwear has been inspired by ceramic texture and patterns, as well as lines in architecture and artwork. delicate prints created by water-colour develop a feminine undertone in some places, which is a contrast to the decayed primary imagery that forms other prints in the collection. the colour pallete binds the collection together developing it into a line up that envelopes femininity and masculinity, contrast and harmony into 10 outfits. this is delicate decay.

STREET STYLE ROUND-UP
When reflecting on the Street Style imagery that has been collated there are certain looks that transpire as key elements of any A/W trend
For any fashion forward thinker the necessity of dressing weather appropriate comes with a need to project a somewhat stylised and unique approach to winter dressing The tactical method of layering oversized shapes to create a bold and almost masculine overall look is contradicted by the use of colours, patterns and prints that act as a neutraliser to counter balance the bold boxy shapes. The amalgamation of thick winter knits, boxy shapes and oversized silhouettes that are toned down with layering and feminine patterns is something that has heavily influenced this Autumn/Winter 2016 trend

COLOUR STORY
BASED ON INNER CITY DOORWAYS THAT THE EVERYDAY COMMUTER STROLLS RIGHT PAST, THESE SPECIFIC DOORWAYS’ SHADES AND TONES LEND THEMSELVES OPENLY TO A SEEMINGLY NEUTRAL YET CONSIDERED COLOUR PALETTE FOR AUTUMN/WINTER . WITH IT’S GENTLE HINT OF VIBRANCE AND COLOUR THAT HINGES THE WHOLE MOOD TOGETHER SEAMLESSLY
COMPLETELY NATURAL AND PURE THIS SELECTION OF DUSKY WARM SHADES REFLECTS THIS DELICATE YET SEEMINGLY UNMETHODICAL WAY IN WHICH NATURE APPEARS WITHIN CITY LIFE, GIVING US A SELECTION OF TONES THAT FALL PERFECTLY INTO PLACE FOR A WELL ROUNDED PALETTE
A COMBINATION OF SOFT SUBTLE TONES OF AZURES, OLIVES AND HAZELS ALL FLOW TOGETHER TO CREATE A NEUTRAL PALETTE BASED ON THE VARIETY OF SHADES BOTH FLOWING AND STILL WATER CAN PRODUCE
FINAL COLOUR STORY
Intended for the AW16 season this is the mood and inspiration board for the final selection of colours. Colours are taken from the most influential textures and patterns collated from images taken as a primary source of inspiration. When reflecting on the images that have been put together to assemble the colour story there is a definite juxtaposition between the decaying and the delicate. Also noted in the contrast of choice of colours, ranging from pale and neutral blues and pinks to deep browns and musty forest greens.

Looking at the above inspiration board the prints created will be an abstract look at everyday wear and tear that gradually builds up to decay and ageing- especially of buildings. other inspiration comes from pottery and ceramics as well as textual undertones that inspire each layer of the print development. the colour story is taken from nature in the city and lends itself well to the delicate intricacies of the intended outcome of this print.

Influences have that all have
been taken from a variety of illustrators a unique and individual style of working.
There are many different correlations between the illustrators work . The sketchy style is the main element that transends throughout. Another is the use of colour to emulate shape and form to create the silhouette of a garment.; flowing and not confined to lines and shapes that make up these illustrations. The harsh contrast of the feminine way in which the figures are portrayed against the sketchy and non uniformal style is what makes these illustrators' work stand out as influences for this particular Autumn/Winter 2016 trend

Number 1 & 2 were the first trials of illustrating the garments. Although they are in a similar style to the inspirational illustrators, as more garments were drawn out and illustrated it became clear that as the illustrations progressed and i became much more accustomed to drawing in this style. that the last 5 were much more professional and told much more of a narrative using the illustrated garments than the original 2.

The typeography inspiration has been taken from a wide variety of sources from magazines, online and on everyday household items. The influencial is all around us. Different techniques lend themselves to this trend. The simple, the bold and the straight forward styles all fit in with the trend at hand. A mix of typographical techniques that sit well next to each other will only compliment the eclectic mix of prints and silhouttes seen already.
DEVELOPING THE TYPOGRAPHY
TITLE TYPE DEVELOPMENT
Original hand drawn title.
Drop shadow added. This isn't bold and stand out enough to be the title of a publication.
Shadow. Although this stands out it is not as clean cut and professional looking as intended for the publication title.
The notion of involving a print in the title is something that will link the title to the contents. However, this example is slightly simple and could be made much more effective.
Final title of the trend publication. This last stage in the development is the most suitable fot the trend itself. The simplistic negative space of the text contrasts against the hectic print. Much like the format of the delicate decay trend.
