SEVEN SISTERS ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE FESTIVAL IS HELD ON THE TRADITIONAL LANDS OF THE BOON WURRUNG PEOPLE OF THE KULIN NATION

Seven Sisters Festival welcomes all women, including women of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD), women of every gender expression and identity, women of diverse sexualities, women of diverse abilities, and women of diverse religious backgrounds and belief.

Dear Guest! My warmest welcome! I am so pleased to be sharing with you our 8th year of Seven Sisters Festival. Together we enter a new 7-year cycle and with it many changes. 2020 will likely be our final year at Bay Park as we start preparing to move to a new site, a permanent home; to nurture and support generations of Seven Sisters women to come. This new phase, has asked a deeper level of commitment, courage and risk and indeed these 3 points are the themes for this year’s festival. Considering our themes, I thought it appropriate to revisit the work of Bronnie Ware, an Australian palliative nurse who researched and published a book on the top 5 regrets of the dying. The top 5 regrets were these: 1. I wish I have the courage to live true to myself and not what others expected of me.

3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.

2. I wish I hadn’t worked so hard.

5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.

4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

There is such phenomenal clarity of vision and wisdom expressed by all these people at the end of their lives. Which point resonated for you? Can you let yourself be happier? Where and in which area of life can you deepen your commitment, show more courage, or gently push past boundaries to take risks that lead to your greater happiness and fulfilment?

With love, Lauren Woodman Founder of Seven Sisters Festival

WHAT’S ON ART AND COMMUNITY PROJECTS CHRISTALIGNMENT

KATIA HONOUR

The Christalignment team of trained and gifted seers, who are also healers, offer highly accurate intuitive Destiny Readings using only our own cards and the safe third heaven realm. In each 20-minute reading, life questions are thoroughly addressed and clients can look forward to experiencing beautiful deep encounters that are both cleansing and life changing. We also specialise in healing and removal of negative energies.

Katia Honour creates artworks during the festival, which are inspired by the performances, music, conversations and realisations brewing in the Chai Tent. She is a trained mystic and classical painter who engages the senses and spirit to bring her beautiful visions into form.

DIGITAL DIVAS Come and experiment with incredible new digital realms created by local digital artists. Pioneering this community space is Stephanie Andrews, a lecturer in Digital Media at RMIT University and previously a 3D artist at Pixar, and Holly Gurling, a Melbourne-based digital creative and community facilitator. This is the first time VR and a Digital Art space has come to Seven Sisters. By building a community at the festival we hope to support and inspire women to participate in digital art and technology.

EARTH MANDALA The Earth Mandala offers a place of stillness, intention, natural beauty and reflection, within the heart of the Seven Sisters festival. It is an opportunity to reflect on and deeply connect with your own personal intention for yourself at the festival, and to both give and receive blessings of peace, nourishment and love. PERFORMERS | Mystic Temple

RISING SUN Rising Sun is Ebony Keegan, 25 years old from Melbourne. In no box with eclectic taste, Rising Sun builds her sets by exploring the sound scapes of and fusing together psychedelic world music, techno, tech house, deep tech and minimal beats. Designed for pure expression, a space to play with sounds and to craft sets that take you wherever you need to go. Coming from a musical background, her purpose behind this project is nothing more than to expand her roots of her musical consciousness. Stay tuned.

ROLA ROUGE DJ Rola a passional musical alchemist. From whomp to funk, she aligns her eclectic music collection to take you on a journey to the roots of your gut and the crown of your joy, connecting ourselves to our bodies, and to each other. The core of her passion stems from her own dance practice where she allows herself to fully embody every nuance of the sounds, allowing it to become her and heal her.

PERFORMERS | SACRED SPACE Mother Tongue SHOWCASE Mother Tongue is an intimate, warm and cosy night of Women’s Spoken Word (poetry, stories, songs, etc.) It is a space to sit back and listen, receive, as well as step up to your ultimate awesomeness and share a piece yourself. PARTNERS |

Thank you to you the amazing partners for 2020 who have supported our festival.

THANK YOU TO All INVOLVED IN THE 2020 FESTIVAL

What makes Seven Sisters Festival especially unique is that over one third of participants are involved in some capacity. So close to 1000 women have made time to share their skills, wisdom, hands and heart. Understandably, we cannot thank and name every individual but can wish a massive heartfelt ‘Thank you’ to each and every one of you for threading your fiber through the tapestry of Seven Sisters 2020. Our co-creation touches many hearts and creates ripples of change across more than our small community. A big thank you and acknowledgement to the traditional owners past, present and future of this land on which we have gathered as well as venue staff of Bay Park and the Briars. A massive thank you to all the talented presenters, performers, musicians, healers, readers, stall holders, artists, volunteers, décor crew, safety crew, production crew, sound crew, set up crew, advisers, space holders, site crew, site and equipment team who share their wisdom, skills, hands and heart. A further thank you to Peninsular Party Hire, The Cat’s Pyjamas, 1800 Buggies, Moon Mother productions, Peninsula Transport Assist as well as Angela and Paul Woodman and extended family for their additional support of our event, together with all staff and supporters from prior events who helped lay the foundations for this Seven Sisters.

As well as a big thank you to the core team of organisational staff who work tirelessly year around to help bring it all together and for the dedicated and hardworking site crew for overseeing it’s execution.
