HIGHER E D U C AT I O N PROJECT
Champlin Architecture// 2021 Working through the beginning of SD to the end of DD, I focused on the interior development of the common space and corridors. This included a large scope of graphics, signage, acoustical solutions, furniture layout, detail development, lighting, and finish selections. After developing concept in collaboration with other desingers, I worked extensively in the model to iterate and execute renderings for the client presentations. The development of technical documentation ran parallel to the render developments.

Concour se & Same Day Surger y// Spring 2020 Within Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, many of the spaces are recently renovated and bring a high level of design that promotes clarity of direction and a sense of comfortability. These environments deserve an investment to create quality spaces that are healthy, safe, functional, and inviting. Our studio redesigned within the existing structure of several of the 1st & 2nd floor spaces in need of a fresh & cohesive look. My primary goal within the design intent was to facilitate CONNECTION (connecting people, connecting people to space, & people to nature) to enhance the experience for users and utilize design to put them at ease as much as possible.

KING RECORDS
4 t h - Ye a r I n t e r i o r s S t u d i o / / Fall 2020 GROUP PROJECT The story of King Records in Cincinnati, OH is a story of culture, community, and the pursuit of inclusivity in the music industry. My team told that story by providing a historical framework pre though post recording era. The aesthetic established by the team that worked on the initial programming and exterior, focused on dark, sleek finishes lit by neon accent lighting. We sought to maintain their aesthetic while curating content and display-driven movement through the space. The journey through the cultural content leads seamlessly into music industry content and ultimately King Records content.

Interiors Studio// Summer 2019 We were tasked with transforming a space (currently a fast food chain) to create a marketing workplace for 5-10 people. The shell of the building could be altered, but we were to maintain site specificity. I began by collaging and noticed a reoccurring pattern of soft light with a low contrast color palette. This developed into the integration of clerestory windows and suspended art pieces intended to capture and disperse light in a soft way. This created a welcoming, comfortable, and creative work environment with visual focal points that signal gathering spots.

Design Lab// Fall 2018 With a physical site chosen for us in the urban neighborhood of OTR (Cincinnati, OH), we began designing a Poetry Foundation (gallery/museum for poetry). The site was approximately 183’ by 40’ wedged between other buildings with the exception of a small lot toward Republic Street. In this narrow lot, limited by what’s adjacent, my parti immediately was clear-finding a way to make paths for desirable natural light. The entry was designed with a faux facade and structural facade both made of glass brick. Centralized in the plan, a light-well cuts through all 4 floors. The windows were treated to avoid harsh South light coming in. So the windows kick out at about a 30 degree angle, with the glazing facing West.

MERCY JEWISH MURAL Champlin Architecture// Co-op Summer 2021
Mercy Health participates in a annual Sukkah festival that Champlin designs the conceptual artwork for. It is later rendered through various methods by a professional artist. This year, the theme Mercy wanted to depict was resilience and renewal, focusing specifically on their first Covid-19 patient & his journey back to health. Using a combination of hand drawing and illustrator work, I stitched together elements to form the composition with 3 important piecesmosaic, colors of the sunrise, and a tribute to the people involved. After finalizing the artwork with Mercy, I selected Sherwin Williams colors for the artist to render the composition on a 2’ x 3’ canvas.

P R E M I E R H E A LT H Champlin Architecture// Co-op Spring 2021
This project is a free standing emergency department located in Ohio. With the finishes already selected and the most of 3D elements built in Revit, I began the rendering process by adding/adjusting the materials in Revit/Enscape and placing them appropriately. Part of the goal with these renderings was to provide signage options, so a total of 6 were built and rendered. Some elements and lighting were edited post Enscape in Photoshop.

D E TA I L DEVELOPMENT
Wright Heerema Architects //Co-op Fall 2019 This project was a corporate repositioning that I worked on extensively for about a month. I did everything from dimensioning plans, creating elevations, selecting finishes to developing a detail in section. This was done through adapting one of our standard details to adjust to what was needed. 6

EXPERIENTIAL S PAC E P RO J E C T
Interior Design Studio// Summer 2019 The first phase of this project was creating a body mantle and then drawing inspiration from the piece to create a space. The body mantle was intended to create a negotiable bubble of personal space. As I transitioned into creating a space I considered what it looked like from two perspectives. From the outside it’s chaotic-but more importantly, the idea internally was to have a spectrum of compressed space. The triangles allowed for a transition of overhead space, where the occupant could stand comfortably in an open space or explore the point that closes in on the ground plane. The iridescent ribbon material acts as an incentive to circulate around this chaotic floor plan.
9
LIGHTING I N S TA L L AT I O N Materials & Fibers// Summer 2019
GROUP PROJECT In a study of materiality combined with light, my team developed a system of backlit trace paper. Each module took a unique and organic shape due to the delicacy of the material combined with its own weight. As it caught and diffused the light, a beautiful soft glow was created. We began with a concept model (as seen to the right). Next, we considered construction-based on the impression of the light quality we decided to suspend the piece from the ceiling. Installed about 3’ off the adjacent wall, the observer would walk along the wall to observe the piece.

C O L L AG E WO R K Pe r s o n a l / / 2017-2021
Collage is an efficient way to explore how space operates in a 2-D medium. It’s a great experimental tool and has tremendously helped me, specifically in conceptually translating between 3-D and 2-D. Below I have included a sample of my work that I believe to be successful in the process and compositionally well-crafted.

MASTER COPY Intro to Painting// Fall 2020
The Green Line by Henri Matisse was created in 1905. The painting is striking in its bold color contrast and depiction of human form. To recreate this piece, I began with underpainting the basic forms, while establishing the initial warm/cool color areas. The ongoing process of layering to build up texture was a priority-to do this I utilized techniques like stumbling and scraffito.
12
T E C H N I Q U E S T U DY Intro to Painting// Fall 2020
Observing the interaction of light source and the colors that compose the hand, I was able to start showing those nuances of illumination through layers and layers of blues, greens, pinks, oranges, and yellows. My techniques focused on brush strokes and layering, this included glazing, underpainting, impasto, scumbling, alla prima, knife painting, frontage, sgraffito, and tonking.

“ W E L C O M E T O . . .”
Intro to Photography// Fall 2020 This is a sampling of my final project that examined small town decline. These scenes feel as if it could exist anywhere in the midwest-mostly unoccupied brick facades lining a quiet town square. In thinking about how these spaces have fallen out of use, I wanted to look at their entry point-the first point of human interaction. I did some light editing to remove distracting elements, but they mostly remain as seen.
