If you have always wanted to learn how to communicate using sign language, then we have the perfect opportunity for you! Come learn conversational skills, vocabulary, and techniques that will enable you to continue learning the language outside of this class. This class will use videos, handouts, dialogues, and demonstrations to enhance your learning experience. A Deaf-community member will also come share about Deaf culture and ASL. Come join the fun! The course runs each Monday for 8 weeks from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. and will be held at the League for the Blind & Disabled, Inc. at 5821 South Anthony Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN 46816 First class: Monday, July 11, 2011 Last class: Monday August 29, 2011 Cost: $50.00 Beginning level sign language class Classes will be taught by Garth Sponseller, Director of DeafLink. He holds his national certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, as well as his IIC and Ed K-12. He has been engaged in community and educational interpreting for the past nine years. Being one of three boys with Deaf parents, Garth’s first language is ASL.
