Hello lovely creative, As part of the final module in my second year I am researching into why people write, what is the purpose and can I link it to my own work? I want to visualise written imagery that I collect. I would be eternally grateful if you fill out this questionnaire for me the best that you can. Be as personal as you can, I promise to treasure it. Thank you. Do you write your own lyrics? Can you describe your process? I don’t know what my writing is, definitely not lyrics. I find I write best when I have a definitive issue or problem to write about. I mostly write late at night at home, whilst sat in a coffee shop somewhere with creative people around me (Me and my friend Joe can sit for hours and not talk, just drink coffee and write). I also write well on the bus, inside my own head with nothing to do but read or think. What serves as your source of inspiration/influence? Where do you find your inspiration? What inspires you to write? I see my writing change depending on who I’m listening to or reading at the time, whilst listening to Bob Dylan and his words on Woody Guthrie, I found my writing took on the same pace as his. My main inspiration is my own head, as an over thinker and a worrier. I tend to work out what I’m feeling through writing, which is probably why I write best when I can’t sleep at night. Who do you look to? List artists you admire: Words: Bob Dylan Neil Young Joe Lyons Regina Spektor Pink Floyd
Visual: Lizzy Stewart Kaye Blegvad Francis Bacon
