A Short Introduction Lauren Ibarra is a writer and editor who specializes in brand management. A native Houstonian, Lauren moved to Austin in 2013 to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing and Rhetoric at St. Edward’s University. This book is a collection of some of the designs Lauren created during her undergraduate career. A self-professed “busy-bee”, Lauren incorporated designs consistent with bees and their hives. Monochromatic colors accented with gold emphasize the sophisticated designs not only of the entire book, but also of the branding package featured at the beginning of the portfolio. Following the branding package, you’ll find Lauren’s information design samples. Thank you for taking time to enjoy this portfolio.

About the Author Dear Reader, I am an undergraduate English Writing and Rhetoric student with a professional writing focus at St. Edward’s University in Austin. I am a highly analytical person who loves transforming ideas into easy-to-understand and engaging documents. My strengths comprise impressive organizational skills, social media relations experience, attention to detail and an unfaltering goal-oriented mindset. I am always eager to learn and meet a challenge. I have completed three internships, in social media relations and in alumni outreach, during my time at St. Edward’s. Currently, I am the editorial intern at Operation Smile. During my internships, I have been presented with objectives for which I research and create content. Most of my work comprises editing and journalistic writing. My talents lie in creating beautiful, concise documents meant to effectively communicate a narrative or idea to the reader. My coursework at St. Edward’s includes document design, technical and business communication, grant writing, and other research and analysis based courses. The English Writing and Rhetoric program at St. Edward’s is rigorous; it creates writers who are able to approach nearly any challenge and meet it. Beyond my coursework and internships, I’m a part-time tutor for children. I care for my dog, Harper Lee, who loves the smell of coffee because it indicates the start of the day. My weekends are spent on codeacademy.com, golfing and trying to make sense of a darkroom. I plan on pursuing a future full of reading, writing, editing and loving life. Thank you for looking through my portfolio. Lauren Ibarra
