WALK ABILITY BETWEEN BARRIERS
BREAKING BARRIERS .Pedestrian mobility in Sungang-Qingshuihe covered in obstacles. Large impenetrable walls and buildings limit the ability of pedestrians to move about at the local scale while highways and rail tracks harshly isolate each urban block. The infrastructure of Shenzhen largely developed around the automobile and freight. The proposed pedestrian network aids in the ability for the pedestrian and cyclist to move about. The network connects the different modes of public transit and allows for a more direct route. Giving a greater priority to the pedestrian increases street life, creating opportunities for social interaction and public spaces. These connections unify the fragmented blocks of the city, giving the inhabitants a much more sustaibable cityand less dependence on motorized indiviual transpotation.
