Cloud Computing & Virtualization Course Description IT organizations worldwide are under pressure to increase capacity and add capability while keeping costs to a minimum. Cloud computing is revolutionizing all aspects of IT and transforming competitive landscapes by providing new ways to create and deliver value. Some organizations choose to utilize cloud services from providers like Google, Amazon and Microsoft, while others choose to build their own cloud within the organization with tools like VMware’s vSphere product line or Microsoft’s Hyper-V. ROI’s highly customizable Cloud Computing curriculum addresses both the IT and business aspects of the cloud. We will help you make the right changes in your processes, technologies, and resources. Your organization will gain the cost-saving rewards of implementing and using cloud computing platforms, while addressing and managing the security, privacy, provider availability, and storage concerns.
Course 770: Hardware Virtualization with VMware In this hands-on course, you’ll learn the foundations behind cloud computing, including an overview of commercial Internet-based clouds, and the construction/operation of an internal cloud using VMware’s extensive product line. The majority of the lecture and labs will focus on Hardware Virtualization and Virtualization Engineering using VMware. Beginning with VMware Workstation, the essentials of Virtual Machines creation and operation will be examined. VMware vSphere Hypervisor (aka VMware ESXi Server) will then be examined to host and operate Virtual Machines. Finally, the operation and management of virtual machines and mission-critical operations will be examined using VMware vSphere Server (aka Virtual Infrastructure). This course can be focused on specific areas, based on your organization’s need.
Course 761: Cloud Computing Foundations Cloud computing offers users the potential of access to powerful web-based services that can be exploited on a pay-as-you go basis, without development costs and zero development time. Through lectures, demonstration, projects, and class discussion, this course explores the characteristics, benefits and drawbacks of cloud computing. We will also look at services already on the market and under consideration, and define the underlying technologies and economic models.
Course 573: Virtualization with Windows 2012 R2 Hyper-V Hyper-V provides an excellent infrastructure for Virtualization. In this hands-on course, Hyper-V will be examined, including setup, configuration, management and security. This course will benefit IT and System Administrators, Managers, and Developers who need to know how to deploy and operate Hyper-V Servers into a corporate environment.
Course 617: Linux KVM Virtualization KVM (Kernel Virtual Machine) is a hypervisor – a software shim providing a consistent interface to the hardware for one or more guest OSs. Through an intensive series of hands-on workshops you will learn procedures for installing, networking, and managing guest OSs under KVM. With the course being 90% hands-on workshop, this course is designed for those who learn by doing. As an added benefit, by the end of the course, the workshop notebook becomes a customized set of procedures for working with Linux KVM implementations.
