I'm so glad you've decided to join me in leading a more natural and healthy lifestyle! Since discovering the power and potency of essential oils, I've been amazed by the benefits for myself and my family. I've been able to take a proactive approach towards our health and it's had such a positive impact. I created Lavender & Friends to be a source of essential oil education and inspiration. I'm passionate about empowering people to feel confident using their oils, and to inspire them to embrace using them daily! This booklet will help you learn a bit more about the oils you received in the BOGO week!
What are essential oils? Have you ever peeled an orange and had the scent linger on your fingers? Or taken a deep breath as you walked through a forest and felt calmed by the fresh smell of pine needles? If so then you have already experienced essential oils in action! Essential oils are the pure extracts that are distilled from plants, including their parts such as seeds, leaves, flowers etc. They provide protection for the plants from predators and diseases. Because the essential oil constituents are small and lipid soluble, they can easily and quickly penetrate the skin and provide the regenerative, protective and immune supporting properties of the plant. Certified pure, theraputic grade essential oils provide a safe, effective and affordable way to support your body. You can take control of your health in a natural way. While they don’t replace modern medication, they can provide natural assistance. Using essential oils can help you treat the problem rather than just mask the symptoms. You are encouraged to take a pro-active role in your health.
Why doTERRA? Having had various negative experiences with essential oils over the years, I had written them off as being smelly, gross, and something only weird hippy people used. So when I first experienced doTERRA oils I was blown away by the difference in quality. Petal Diffuser
Internally - In a Veggie Cap - With a glass of water - With a teaspoon of honey - Under your tongue - In your cooking Always check the safety label as not all oils are designed to be used internally. Please note that I do not suggest using any oil other than a certified pure theraputic grade essential oil in your food. I only use doTERRA and I highly suggest that you do the same. Easy Air Clear Blend
Easy Air is the respiratory blend and is great for supporting clear airways. It has a fresh, minty aroma that is cooling and calming. We use it in the diffuser every time my baby boy has a sleep! • Diffuse, inhale directly from palms, or rub on chest or feet when environmental threats are high. • Use when outdoors to minimize the effects of seasonal threats. • Diffuse at bedtime for a restful environment. • Mix with epsom salts for a relaxing bath • Rub on bottom of feet to support someone who snores • Apply diluted to your chest prior to exercise
Cypress Fresh and clear
Cypress essential oil has a fresh, clean aroma that’s energising and refreshing and is frequently used in spas and by massage therapists. Cypress contains monoterpenes, making it beneficial for oily skin conditions. • Prior to a long run, apply to feet and legs for an energising boost. • Apply two or three drops to your chest before gardening to enliven your senses. • Diffuse with Lime essential oil for an invigorating scent. • Mix together Cypress and Grapefruit essential oil with carrier oil for an invigorating massage. • Add one to two drops to toner to help improve the appearance of oily skin.
Balance Grounding Blend
The warm, woody aroma of dōTERRA Balance Grounding Blend creates a sense of calm and well-being. This is an oil I use every single day! It helps soothe any anxious feelings I may have, and helps have a grounding, balancing effect on emotions. I love putting a drop on the bottom of my feet and back of my neck in the morning, and then I apply it mixed with fractionated coconut oil on my wrist throughout the day. • Begin your day by putting Balance on the bottom of your feet to promote feelings of calmness and tranquility throughout the day. • Balance is a great oil blend to use during an AromaTouch® Hand Massage. • Apply to your wrists or neck to help ease anxious feelings. • Diffuse in your car during road trips to create a calming, soothing environment.
Forgive Renewing Blend
As Elsa reminds us in Frozen...sometimes you have to "Let it GO"! Forgive is the perfect blend to help yourself release anger, upset, guilt, and any other negative emotions you may be feeling. It will also help you to recognize that by forgiving others you are actually setting yourself free. I love to diffuse this oil (often with Balance) and it helps me to get in a frame of mind where I can work through my emotions and release the anger. • Diffuse when meditating to promote calm emotions, creating a nurturing open environment. • Apply to pulse points and heart throughout the day to feel grounded and content. • Have doTERRA Forgive on hand throughout the day for when negative emotions arise from undesirable situations.
Peace Reassuring Blend
Known as the "Reassuring Blend", this is the oil I turn to when I'm feeling upset or worried. I'll be totally honest- when I first smelled it I was not a huge fan, but when I need it then I love the smell. It's a great one for taming toddlers- when your little one is having a meltdown you can rub it diluted with a carrier oil along their spine, back of the neck and on their feet. It's also a beautiful one to use just before bedtime to help you feel peaceful. It's been designed to support finding your inner peace through connection with the divine source. • Give yourself peace of mind by rubbing doTERRA Peace Reassuring Blend into your temples. • Apply doTERRA Peace Reassuring Blend to tense shoulders. • When experiencing anxious feelings, apply one drop to hands, rub together, and inhale deeply. • To calm an upset or restless child, apply to bottoms of feet.
Cheer Uplifting Blend
This is the "Uplifting Blend" and it's a beautiful mix of citrus and spice that will leave you will a smile on your face. It's going to make you feel happy and help you to regain your hope and optimism even when you are facing obstacles. I love to wear it a pure-fume, or diffuse it when I'm feeling a bit flat. •Diffuse at home, work, or school to promote a positive, uplifting environment. • Apply to a cotton ball or terracotta plate and place in car to experience doTERRA Cheer’s energising aroma while driving. •To brighten your day apply one drop to hands, rub together, and inhale deeply as needed throughout the day
On Guard Protective Blend
Known as the protective blend, this is a MUST HAVE oil in my house. It's great when you are feeling a bit under the weather! It's an uplifting and energizing aroma (as a side note: we learned to not diffuse this oil after 4pm as it keeps kids too energized for bed!!) and it's also a great one to clean with! • Soak sliced apples in water and a few drops for a healthy snack • Add a few drops to a spray bottle with water and use as a surface cleaner. • Diffuse for an energising and uplifting aroma
AromaTouch Massage Blend
This oil is the spa blend, and I find it's quite similar to Ice Blue in terms of giving you that cooling feeling. It's a great one for massage, make you feel totally relaxed and happy. It also smells much less medicinal than Ice Blue, a softer and more spicy aroma. combines the unique benefits of oils known to provide relaxing and comforting effects. AromaTouch® combines Cypress, Peppermint, Marjoram, Basil, Grapefruit, and Lavender essential oils in a perfect blend that adds many important benefits to various massage techniques. This popular blend is a vital part of the dōTERRA AromaTouch® Technique, a proprietary method for applying essential oils to produce a profound whole-body experience. • Apply to neck and shoulders to promote feelings of relaxation and comfort or use with carrier oil for massage. • Give your loved one a hand massage using the AromaTouch®Hand Technique and AromaTouch essential oil blend. • Add to Epsom salts and enjoy soaking in a hot bath.
Lumo Diffuser Inspired by nature
Transform any room into a serene or uplifting environment by diffusing CPTG® essential oils with a custom-designed, natureinspired, ultrasonic diffuser. Influenced by nature, the Lumo diffuser features a maple wood base and several light settings inspired by natural elements. Offering customizable output, Lumo can run 2 to 5 hours continuously and 10 hours intermittently. Similar to the Petal diffuser, the Lumo is an ultrasonic diffuser. Copaiba Comfort and strength
This oil is super calming and relaxing. I take a drop under my tongue every night before bedtime and within a few minutes it's lights out! This oil is renowned for it's positive effects on the endocannabinoid system. This system is one of the most important physiologic systems involved in establishing and maintaining human health. Copaiba essential oil is derived from the resin of the copaiba tree which can grow upwards of more than 30 metres and can be found in tropical South America. Copaiba oil is widely used in cosmetic products including soaps, creams, lotions, and perfumes. It is soothing and calming emotionally. • Add 1 to 2 drops to water, juice, or tea. • Diffuse aromatically to create a calming atmosphere. • Apply topically combined with a carrier oil or a facial moisturiser to promote the appearance of a clear, smooth complexion and to help reduce the appearance of blemishes.
Purify Purification Blend
I call this the deodorizing blend because it gets rid of any stinky odors! I add a 2-3 drops to my washing machine for fresh smelling laundry. Purify contains Lemon and Lime essential oils, known for their powerful cleaning properties, along with Siberian Fir to clear the aroma of the air. The addition of Citronella, Tea Tree, and Cilantro give this blend an enticing aroma that’s uniquely dōTERRA and unmatched in cleansing properties. • Diffuse to clear and freshen the air. • Freshen smaller rooms (or a car) by placing a few drops of Purify Cleansing Blend on a cotton ball and putting it into the air vent. • Add 5 drops to a small spray bottle with water and use to wipe down countertops. • Add a few drops to the rinse cycle when doing laundry to help eliminate odour.
