T ucked away in the northern Caribbean, Anguilla blends the casual, easy spirit of the islands with an unmistakable exclusivity and elegance that captivates visitors from around the world. Coated with unparalleled white sand beaches and surrounded by stunning turquoise waters, the island's beauty and tranquility create a space that relaxes the mind and refreshes the spirit. While Conde Nast ranked Anguilla's beaches the best in the Caribbean, the Travel Channel upped the ante, ranking the beaches the best in the world. Beyond the island's incomparable beauty, the friendliness and welcoming spirit of the Anguillian people continue to bring visitors back to the island's shores. The friendships and memories built on the island will undoubtedly last a lifetime. It is this very quality of the island that the Frangipani Beach Resort works to reinforce and allow guests to experience. The Frangipani Beach Resort is family owned and operated, and has set itself apart as the premier luxury boutique hotel in Anguilla. Located on the soft white sands of Meads Bay, the Frangipani provides the backdrop for an exquisite island getaway. With 19 rooms and suites, the resort allows guests an unrivaled, intimate experience with the luxury and amenities that visitors have come to equate with the island. During your stay, you will get to know the managers and staff, and will be able to gain a deeper understanding of the elusive qualities that have made Anguilla a veritable gem within the Caribbean's rich cultural scene. Join us for our weekly managers' cocktail party. Set sail with us on a sunset cruise. Join our staff down at a local beach bar for dancing during the week. Beach Hopping Boat Trip, Frangipani Beach Resort 1. Provided the seas are working in your favor, a beach hopping boat trip is a great addition to an Anguillian itinerary. Guests join us on our boat, Relentless, for a day of exploring off-island cays (Prickly Pear and/or Sandy Island) along with a bit of snorkeling at famed Little Bay and lunch at a local restaurant. It’s a great opportunity to get out on the water, see the island from a different perspective, and meet other guests at the resort. {$65 per person, limited availability}

Enjoy Water Sports – It’s On Us!

2. Stay active during your stay with complimentary motorized and nonmotorized water sports! Try paddle boarding, kayaking, water skiing, tubing,

wake boarding or learn to sail a Hobie Cat with one of our beach boys. Our attendants are on duty from 10AM – 4PM and no appointment is required.

Experience World-Class Dining on the Beach

3. Anguilla consistently gets rated as one of the Caribbean’s culinary capitals and that’s no accident. The island is home to a slew of world-class restaurants offering everything from nouveau Caribbean fare to upscale French and Moroccan. Our on-site restaurant, Straw Hat, was rated as a Top 10 restaurant in the Caribbean by Fodor’s, making it a great spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Plus, the view? It’s tough to beat.

Sip Rum Punch at a Local Beach Bar

4. Is there anything more Caribbean than a toes-in-the-sand beach bar experience? Head to Elvis’ Beach Bar in Sandy Ground for a rum punch or

mammawanna shot and make your way to Pumphouse to grab a bite while listening to live music. For a daytime beach bar experience, try Garvey’s Sunshine Shack on Rendezvous Bay.

Create a New Tradition

5. For an extra special experience during your stay, look to Tradition Sailing, operated by Laurie Gumbs and Deb Vos of Pumphouse fame. In lieu of a powerboat, you’ll step onto a traditional West Indian sloop that takes you out on a slow, peaceful sail on the Caribbean Sea. Try their sunset tapas cruise for a memorable evening.

Listen to Live Music

6. Anguilla is home to a surprising amount of musical talent, and a meal over live music is a must when you’re on island! Whether it’s Omari Banks over an upscale

meal at Veya, the scratch band at Gwen’s, or jazz at Johnno’s, there’s something for everyone and something nearly every day of the week. Check out our live music calendar for more.

Have a Postcard Experience at Scilly Cay

7. Nosh on local crayfish grilled to perfection and wash it down with an ice-cold rum punch at Scilly Cay. This little off-island cay requires guests to head to Island Harbour where a little boat will collect you and whisk you away to this pictureperfect island. Open Wednesdays and Sundays only (they have live music on Sundays!), Scilly Cay was written up in Bon Apetit magazine for their upscale BBQ and otherworldly setting. Spend the day lazing away – you’ll feel like someone dropped you into a postcard.

Laze on Meads Bay 8. Anguilla is known for its blindingly white, perfect beaches (there are 33 of them!), and Meads Bay is arguably the best beach on the island. A long stretch of powdery white sand, you’ll find your place to lounge under one of our palapas where Straw Hat Restaurant offers beach service to ensure a steady flow of rum punch. Meads Bay is home to a number of restaurants so you’ll be able to walk down to any of a number of dining spots that cater to all cravings.

Mingle at the Managers' Cocktail Party

9. One of the many perks of a boutique property is getting to know the staff, the managers and other guests by name. Frangipani hosts a weekly managers’ cocktail party during the season to allow guests to mingle while sipping on rum punch or wine and listening to live music. It’s a fun time and always ends up in new friendships and connections being forged – don’t miss it!

Enjoy a Dose of Anguillian Culture

10. Local events and activities take place throughout the year, and getting involved is a great addition to your itinerary for a serious dose of Anguillian flavor. Sailboat racing is the national sport of the island and major boat races happen during the summer months, culminating with the races taking place during Carnival week. Other local festivals like Festival del Mar (a seafood festival in Island Harbour) and Moonsplash (a reggae festival at the Dune Preserve) are fun draws.

Top$7$Reasons$to$Visit$Anguilla$This$Summer

$ Visitors flock to the warm beaches of Anguilla during the winter months. Some visit the island to celebrate the holidays beachside with their families, while others are excited to leave the frigid winters in New York, Chicago, Vancouver and the like. While winters in the Caribbean never fail to dazzle, summers certainly have their perks. For those that aren’t necessarily set on their winter warm-up in the Caribbean, there is a serious argument to be made that May and June are prime months for planning a getaway to Anguilla. Here are 7 reasons to get you thinking about your summer getaway.

Low season prices are in effect. 1. It’s no secret that an Anguillan getaway can be a bit of an investment during the winter months, but rack rates drop considerably across the island during low season. Sure, our one bedroom suite may not play into your romantic getaway budget during the holidays, but you can enjoy the same luxury at half the price if you book for the summer.

The weather still rocks. 2. We know what you’re thinking. There’s a reason people go to the Caribbean in the winter — the weather is at its peak! Well, yes, the weather is great during December, but it’s just as great during May or June. Expect weather in the high 70s – high 80s for most of the year, low season included.

You can get into your favorite restaurants. 3. There’s a fair likelihood that your favorite restaurants on the island are other visitors’ favorite restaurants, too. The reality is that many people make their restaurant reservations in advance; months in advance in some cases. If you’re looking to make a reservation at Blanchard’s, Straw Hat or Veya (amongst many others in demand) over the holidays, you’ll probably want to make those reservations early. If you’re looking to get into those same restaurants during the summer, you’ll have a much easier time getting a reservation and fewer visitors to share your space with.

You’ll have your own stretch of beach.

4. Low season brings fewer visitors, which means there’s a strong likelihood you’ll have a large stretch of beach all to yourself. In reality, this happens even during high season in many spots (it’s one of the perks of Anguilla being a rather undiscovered gem), but low season is impressively relaxing and personal. Sure there are spots that you can go if you’re looking for a lively crowd, but if you want some quiet beach time during the day, you’ll be able to find a place to enjoy your very own patch of white sandy beach.

You’ll get a rental car. 5. This may not sound like a bonus, but it really is. There are a number of rental car vendors on the island, but there isn’t always sufficient stock to supply all of the tourists that visit during the bustling winter months. Some people opt for taxis over rental cars of course, but that can be an expensive prospect. During the summer months, you’re almost guaranteed to find the rental car you want for your stay. Remember: Drive left.

Enjoy some local flair.

6. If you’re looking for a serious local experience, Anguilla’s annual Carnival celebration is not to be missed. The entire celebration spans nearly two weeks, beginning at the end of July and heading into August, but the most noteworthy is arguably August Monday. The first Monday of August marks one of the most famous beach parties in the Caribbean. Locals are out en masse to celebrate Anguillan culture with local fare, local music and a whole lot of dancing. If you’re not up for a Carnival experience, the summer months will still give you a glimpse into local living. When beach bars and restaurants aren’t loaded up with visitors, you’ll get a better chance to chat with locals and expats about Anguillan living (plus gain some insights into their favorite to-dos).

Family vacations make sense. 7. Last, but not least: family vacations make sense during the summer. If you’re looking for a family getaway instead of a romantic rendezvous, summer becomes the most ideal time to book. With the kids out of school and the new year crunch time dissipating at work, taking a week for family time becomes a bit more doable. Plus, with rates being 50%+ lower than high season rates, the two or three-bedroom suite makes your getaway more comfortable and more affordable.

// G I V I N G B A C K //! Working Together for Youth Development ! ! ! “!

The Frangipani Beach Resort is committed to giving back to the island community with opportunities for social and cultural development on the island. The Frangipani is pleased to participate in charity events for non-profits across the island and abroad. We have donated to local organizations including the Anguilla Animal Rescue Foundation (AARF), the Anguilla Youth Sailing Club, and a variety of school-based initiatives across the island.

!

The Frangipani Beach Resort is proud to be the pioneer of the Pack for a Purpose initiative on the island of Anguilla. Working with the Blowing Point Youth Development Center, we encourage visitors to the island to bring a few necessary supplies that will greatly help in supporting this local NGO. All visitors -- guests and non-guests -- can deliver supplies to the Frangipani Beach Resort, where items will be sorted and delivered to the center for kids in need. Please visit our website for information on much-needed supplies if you’re interested in contributing. Blowing Point Youth Development Center provides after school programs for children, with alternating days for primary school and secondary school children. The organization works to bridge the gap between school, college and the workplace for all children and young people in the community. Staff and volunteers at the center provide ongoing support and guidance to youth in the area of academics and life skills. The facility is staffed by volunteers from the island and is able to provide services through the generosity of donors in Anguilla and abroad. Blowing Point Youth Development Center was the first of its kind in Anguilla and now has two sister programs, the H.O.P.E. Center in the East End and the Care Center in Island Harbour. The Frangipani intends to extend its partnership with Pack for a Purpose to these two sister centers as the initiative gains support from visitors. As the national sport of Anguilla, sailing has played an integral part in Anguillan history and has woven itself into the very fabric of the island's culture. Boats from neighborhoods across the island cut across the Caribbean Sea on designated days throughout the year to celebrate the island's heritage and secure their title as the island's best. The Frangipani Beach Resort is the proud sponsor of De Tree, a sailboat that claims Blowing Point as its home. An award winning vessel, De Tree currently holds the title of Boat of the Year in Anguilla.
