Attorney Steven M. Dettelbach Attorney Steven Dettelbach is a prosecutor and lawyer of high repute. In fact, he has been nominated by President Barack Obama as the US Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio. With an excellent legal education from the Harvard Law School, Attorney Dettelbach has carved a niche for himself in the legal scenario of the country.

Born in 1965 in Cleveland Ohio, Steven Dettelbach attended Dartmouth College (1984-1988). He then went on to study at Harvard Law (1988-1991). His studies at Harvard Law marked the outset of a promising career in law. This is where he indulged in pick up games in the Hemingway Gymnasium along with other students, one of whom was President Barack Obama who loved these stress busting games. This is the reason as to why people are often curious whether he ever tried to manipulate the President due to his issues of his nomination. Dettelbach actually snorts at that question, mentioning that he did nothing of the kind. In fact, the recommendation was made from the side of a US Senator, Sherrod Brown who nominated the 43 year old attorney. Mr. Steven has been appointed to replace Gregory A White who had resigned in 2008 from the position of federal magistrate judge. Brown had appointed a commission comprising primarily of down state lawyers who interviewed a group of applicants. They had been unanimous in their choice of Steven Dettelbach among Subodh Chandra (who had been the Former Law Director of Cleveland), Duane Deskins (Asst. US Attorney), and Jim Wooley (a friend and erstwhile law partner of Dettelbach’s). In fact, Attorney Dettelbach had worked with Wooley at Baker Hostetler for nearly 3 years after serving over 12 long years as a federal prosecutor.

He had partnered Baker & Hostetler since 2006, his time being divided between the Cleveland and Washington offices. The areas of specialty of this reputed attorney and legal practitioner is in corporate internal investigation and defending groups and individual clients in state and federal investigations and regulatory actions. In March 2009, Steven Dettelbach gave up his practice in criminal law in the hope of returning to the Justice Department. Since March, the shift of focus of his legal pursuits has been on the civil aspect of the law. Attorney Steven Dettelbach has been nominated by President Barack Obama as the US Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio. He is an attorney who has carved a niche for himself in the legal industry as a partner in Baker Hostetler’s Litigation Group. Mr. Dettelbach is a member of the White Collar Defense and Corporate Investigations practice. He had been a prominent figure on the basketball court before becoming a US attorney. The extensive sway that Mr. Steven Dettelbach holds in the Cleveland area is unparalleled. He had been a prolific shot blocker at the Hawken School in Chester Township. Tall and broad, Attorney Steven met his better half at the Dartmouth College, after he joined as a junior level university player. In fact, with the reputation of this lawyer going strong, there’s no denying the fact that he is considered a formidable contender by a lot of his contemporaries. With plenty of high profile fraud and corruption cases under his belt, Attorney Dettelbach is as accomplished as can be. In fact, his parents are proud of their son and they had attended Steven’s Gray Trial, even though the couple has long divorced.
