Ethan M. Flaherty, Cartera Commerce By Teresa Cajot Last week it was announced that Ethan M. Flaherty will join Cartera Commerce as General Counsel. Flaherty, who has served the company as an outside legal advisor for the past six years, brings with him great knowledge and understanding of Cartera’s business goals and needs.
Immediately prior to accepting the position of General Counsel, Flaherty was a partner at Pabian & Russell, LLC where he concentrated in mergers and acquisitions, corporate contracts, software and biotech licensing, joint ventures, private placements of securities, asset-based financing, lender-and borrower-side loan transactions, trademark and copyright, corporate entity selection and formation, executive employment agreements and compensation, family business succession planning, and general business law. From 2003 to 2005 Flaherty worked in the Boston office of Keegan Werlin & Pabian, LLP and from 1996 to 2003 he was an associate with Nixon Peabody LLP. He is a member of the Boston Bar and the Massachusetts Bar Associations and has served as the president of the Brown University Club of Boston. Flaherty earned his JD from the Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as an executive editor on the Georgetown International Environmental Law Review, as

well as a member of the American Inns of Court. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in biology from Brown University. From 2005 through 2011 Flaherty was selected as a “Super Lawyer/ Rising Star” by Boston Magazine and Law & Politics Magazine, an accolade reserved for the top 2.5 percent of rising attorneys in Massachusetts. “We are very pleased to have Ethan join the Cartera team.
