Law Career Development Office at the University of Baltimore School of Law By Teresa Cajot At the Law Career Development Office (LCDO) at the University of Baltimore School of Law in Maryland, the accomplished staff of six provide students, alumni, and employers with a number of career development services including career counseling, employment programs, internship programs, a job database, career planning resources, panels, workshops, and judicial clerkship opportunities.

The office is headed by Assistant Dean, Astrid Schmidt King Esq., who graduated from the law school in 2002. King joined the Law Center Development Office in 2008, after spending nearly two years as the Associate Director at the Office of Career Services at New York University School of Law. Prior to that, she was an associate with the Business Immigration and Compliance Group at Greenberg Traurig. Immediately after earning her JD, King spent three years as a Policy Analyst and State Legislator Coordinator at Families USA, in Washington, DC. During this time, she also earned an LLM in Law and Government from Washington College of Law at American University. D. Jill Green is the Director of the Attorney Practice Internship Program. She works closely with King in the areas of career development and programming. She is also responsible for coordinating internship placement services, providing career counseling, and pairing first year law students with summer internships through the EXPLOR program.

Green holds a JD from the University of Baltimore and a BA from the University of Maryland at College Park. Associate Director Jernee Bramble joined the LCDO in May. Prior to that, she worked at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP as a Professional Development Coordinator. While at Willkie Farr & Gallagher, she was in charge of managing the design, implementation, assessment, and communication of all training and development programs. Bramble was also involved with the firm’s fall on-campus recruiting efforts, as well as the summer associate program. Other office members include the Assistant Director, Alyson Todd, Esq. and Christian Blom, the Senior Career Advisor. Shirley Skiles is the LCDO’s Administrative Assistant.
