Nancy Lochner, Director of Career Services By Teresa Cajot Nancy Lochner has always demonstrated a strong commitment to her work at Hamline University School of Law in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

As a law student at Hamline, she served as an Associate and an Associate Editor of the Hamline Law Review, volunteered as Guardian ad Litem, and received an Honorable Mention Best Oralist on the National Civil Rights Moot Court Team.

Events and programs offered through the CSO under Lochner’s guidance have included the Mock Interview Marathon, the Bookbag to Briefcase series, Out-of Town Job Searching, Food for Thought Mentoring Luncheons, and many more.

As a third-year law student, Lochner took on a position as a law clerk with Dady & Gardner, P.A. and was offered an attorney position with the firm following her graduation in 1998. From 1998 -2000 she practiced franchise litigation with the firm and maintained a connection as a contract attorney from 2000-2004.

Lochner’s is currently a member of the Law School Membership Taskforce, the American Bar Association Forum on Franchising, Minnesota Women Lawyers, the National Association for Law Placement (NALP), and the Minnesota Legal Career Professionals.

However, it wasn’t long before she found herself back at her alma mater in the role of Director of Career Services. Within the CSO, the Minnesota native oversees all career services functions, while also making herself available for individualized career counseling sessions. She arranges and conducts career and professional development programs covering a range of topics for both students and professional organizations. Lochner has presented at a number of events including the 2009 Third Annual Meeting of Law School Diversity Professionals and the 2009 National Association for Law Placement Annual Education Conference in Washington, DC.

Within Hamline University and Hamline University School of Law, she has served on the Diversity & Student Affairs Committee, the Teaching & Learning Committee, the Law Student & Alumni Services Committee, the Law Learning Outcomes Assessment Task Force, the Data Practices Subcommittee, and the Strategic Planning Framework Group. Lochner graduated from Hamline with honors and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child Psychology from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
