Sarah Walls, a Ft. Worth, Texas lawyer and California native, can’t have many free moments in the course of any given day. This environmental advocate, when she’s not moderating environmental conferences, is a partner with Cantey Hanger, LLP. Her practice areas, besides environmental law, include business crime and torts, OSHA, and public/regulatory cases. For many in Texas, her name is synonymous with environmental leader as she is the founder and Chairman of the Environmental Law Section of the Tarrant County Bar Association and lends a vibrant voice for those causes she so strongly believes in. She is also one of the most well respected attorneys in the country, not to mention her popularity in Texas. She’s also served in the as the Chair of the Environmental, Health and Safety Committee of Ft. Worth. Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee with Ft. This Texas Super Lawyer graduated with her BA from Emory University in 1974 and received her JD from Harvard Law School in 1977. Her professional affiliations include a license to practice in Texas, admission to the United States Court of Appeals, for both 1st and 5th Circuits, as well as admission to both the United States District Courts in the Northern District of Georgia and the Northern District of Texas. She was admitted to Georgia’s state bar in 1984, Massachusetts in 1984 and Texas in 1989. Clearly, her experience is impressive and remarkable.
Many of her cases involve alleged ethics violates, kickbacks, environmental litigations, contaminated property, Brownfield and as mentioned, OSHA issues. Walls has also authored many articles over the years that have appeared in the Texas Association of Business and other publications. She’s often asked to speak to various conferences and groups and a few of these include Meritas, the Texas Environmental Super Conference (slated for August, 2010), the Texas Association of Business and the State of Bar of Texas Advanced Environmental Law Course. Walls has been honored by the YWCA and its Tribute to Women in Business, the Fort Worth Business Press, where she was named one of the ‘’Who’s Who in Business and was also the recipient of the ‘’Women of Influence’’ award.
