WOOD-FLOOR WONDER

Finished hardwood is fairly easy to care for but does need some TLC to stay looking its best. LAB RESULTS In tests, the wipes easily restored the shine to our very heavily tarnished pieces of silver flatware and jewelry and a silver-plated tray without the mess other polishes can make. How To Avoid Cleaning Burnout

Cut down on epic cleaning sessions by adopting these clean-as-you-go strategies:

• Manage the microwave. Wipe the door and the inside of the oven after every use to keep spills from baking on and to avoid extra scrubbing at the end of the week.

• Divvy up dusting. Every day or two, dust furniture and then vacuum (in one room each time).

• De-gunk fridge drawers. Wipe spills and produce debris from refrigerator drawers as you remove veggies to make dinner.

• Lessen laundry loads. Launder bedding and towels on days other than your normal laundry day. While it may seem like more work, you’ll have shorter laundry sessions overall.

• Clean with steam. Wipe down the bathroom post-shower to prevent soap-scum buildup.
