Time for Change!
June always feels like transformation to me. Gardens are blooming and the leaves on the trees filter the light so beautifully. Colours are brighter, scents are stronger, textures are softer. The whole month is like the “after” pictures in a before and after reno (March is the before pics!).

Appropriately, this issue of Style at Home delivers on that theme. We have fabulous before and after stories throughout. In “It Takes Two” (page 80), two of our contributors – Karl Lohnes and Peter Paquette – team up to redo a family home in Toronto. Their design fixes inject it with the energy of the people who live there. And who doesn’t love a before and after kitchen reno? In “Recipe for Success” (page 48), a crowded, dated kitchen gets a total overhaul to make room for a busy family. Check out the smart storage solutions that you’ll want to steal.
And right on time for summer vacay, we’ve got two big makeover stories on two tiny trailers (“Happy Camper” on page 34 and “Trailer Blazer” on page 38). Can’t hit the road in style? Then bring it to your backyard, balcony or porch with our story on this summer’s hottest trends (page 28), where we show you how to kit out your outdoor space with the latest looks and products.
So grab a cool drink and take this issue of Style at Home out to your favourite spot in the shade. It’s time to start dreaming up your own before and after!
