Real-world experience, hands-on job skills. The Lawrence Arts Center’s Creative Youth Development programs provide an opportunity for 6th through 12th graders to immerse themselves in project-based, creative environments where they can develop real-world experience and hands-on job skills. Creative Youth Development programs integrate the arts with youth development principles, including leadership training, teamwork, positive risk-taking, and one-on-one mentorship, to spark young people's creativity and build life skills critical to future success. Leveraging middle and high school students’ passion for the arts, these programs teach students key artistic, professional, and interpersonal skills and encourage them to be active contributors to their local communities.
