Art History on the Rocks 5:00-7:00 PM | CIDER GALLERY | $20

Join art historian Maria Elena Buszek for a spirited discussion of her research on contemporary artists whose work exists at the intersection of art and music. Guided by music writers such as Lester Bangs, Ellen Willis, and Greil Marcus, Buszek will address their deeply personal approach to criticism that claims a kind of kinship with the artists they write about, and propose the need for scholarly voices in art history that admit (and risk) collusion with the artists we study. Art History on the Rocks is a freewheeling art history course pairing art and spirits. Space is limited and advance registration is required. Price includes one drink and light appetizers.
