Youth Theatre programs for audiences since 2012!
Pirates of Penzance, 2013
WELCOME! Dear Parents and Young Actors, WELCOME TO THE 44TH SEASON OF SUMMER YOUTH THEATRE. Get ready for an exciting summer of all new programming for preschool through 12th grade. This year we have revamped age groups, adding new programs and refining our goals. In the pages that follow you will find all that’s new for summer 2019. AMIDST ALL THAT IS NEW, SOME THINGS REMAIN UNCHANGED. Students who participate in Summer Youth Theatre collaborate with professional theatre artists and fellow students in a fun and safe environment. Our mission is to cultivate positive working relationships between young people, professionals, and the community to create high quality, thought-provoking productions. SYT offers progressive opportunities starting with exploration and play-based camps, building foundational theatre skills, intensive training in musical and dramatic theatre, as well as hands-on technical theatre education. AT EVERY LEVEL STUDENTS LEARN BY DOING. Professional directors, choreographers, musicians, and theatre technicians work with young people to produce high quality shows performed for enthusiastic, often sold-out audiences. OUR 2019 SUMMER YOUTH THEATRE SEASON THEME IS “CLAIM YOUR POWER!” Each production explores themes of individuality and how power influences the decisions we make. AT ITS HEART, SYT PARTICIPANTS HAVE FUN, MAKE NEW FRIENDS, AND CREATE MEMORIES THAT LAST A LIFETIME.
Come join us – we are committed to making this the best summer yet!
