Jeff Weinberg Table Pieces
AUGUST 14 - SEPTEMBER 26, 2020 L AW R E N C E A R T S C E N T E R
TABLE PIECES A board and four legs is a table–function and design meant to be used. Add created objects: human, animal, insect, demons of the dark made from gemstones and pearls, marble paste, gold and silver and nails and wire and rocks. The resulting forms speak of the human condition, the joy of dance, the unseen living creatures that inhabit our lives, and the beauty of stones under our feet. When placed on a table, each work can stimulate thought and conversation, yet each remains animate in the dark as we dream. This exhibition will display some of Weinberg’s newest works.
JEFF WEINBERG Jeff Weinberg is retired from KU where he most recently held appointments as Honors Teaching Fellow, assistant to Chancellors Gray-Little and Hemenway, and Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. His work is represented in private collections and one museum. Two of his major works were acquired by the Lied Center for the Performing Arts in Lawrence, Kansas where they are on permanent display.
