The Lawrence school district is going back to the drawing board on several proposed changes to school attendance boundaries. At the school board meeting Monday, the Boundary Advisory Committee, tasked with recommending new boundaries to the board, agreed to evaluate Ingram several alternative options after parents raised various concerns. The boundaries are at issue because the board wants to balance school enrollment and avoid crowding. Monday, school officials entertained around a half-dozen alternatives that involve elementary schools such as Deerfield, Sunset Hill, Schwegler and Quail Run, as well as West and South middle schools. KBI trying to determine the scope of untested sexual assault kits in state Topeka (ap) — The state’s investigation bureau is trying to determine whether Kansas has a backlog of untested sexual assault kits. Officials say that across the country, hundreds of thousands of sexual assault kits remain untested. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation recently sent surveys to all Kansas law enforcement agencies to iden-
tify if there is a testing backlog for the kits, which include swabs and specimens gathered during exams of sexual assault victims. The group’s director, Kirk Thompson, said the state agency doesn’t think there is one in Kansas but wants to make sure. “Our goal out of this is to determine the scope of the situation,” he said.
KBI hopes to begin analyzing the survey’s results starting next year. Thompson said that 66 kits are currently awaiting testing at KBI labs. The bureau has labs that test DNA in Topeka, Kansas City and Great Bend. Lisa Burdett, DNA technical leader for the KBI, said it takes between two and three hours to test the kit

If you are not familiar with Chick-fil-A, they are “Home to the Original Chicken Sandwich.” (I always tell them not to serve me that one because I think it would be mighty stale.) The restaurant has about 10 different chicken items on the menu, ranging from crispy and grilled sandwiches to nuggets
and strips, and even chicken salad sandwiches. But the menu also includes wraps, salads, breakfast items and desserts. The company has operated a food court version of its restaurant in the Wescoe dining area on the KU campus, but this will mark its
