Dear School Families,

We have great news! During the 2021-2022 school year, all children may eat free!

Last school year, Food Service staff in Lawrence Public Schools’ Nutrition and Wellness Department served 502,339 free breakfasts and 683,689 free lunches to children in the community. During the upcoming school year, all schoolchildren may continue to eat free.

A new form, the Household Economic Survey, will replace the previous federal free and reduced-price meal application. This new form will identify student eligibility for school fee waivers and other bene ts.

In addition, completed Household Economic Surveys generate much-needed funding for our schools’ educational programs. One parent/guardian from each household should complete the new form. If families do not complete it, the state of Kansas will reduce funding for our schools.

Please watch for more information, including instructions and a link for completing the Household Economic Survey online by September 15, 2021.

Thank you in advance for helping Lawrence Public Schools waive school fees for eligible families and secure full funding to support student achievement and success.

Sincerely, Anthony S. Lewis, Ph.D. Superintendent of Schools For over 36 years, the Lawrence Piano Studio has offered fun-filled, quality group and private piano lessons in the Lawrence area to students of all ages.
