Mayo County Council Housing Development Protected by Memtech Radon Barrier M1

MEMTECH CELEBRATES 2ND ANNIVERSARY OF OBTAINING NSAI CERTIFICATION

Memtech is a Reinforced Radon System exclusively supplied by Laydex. The Memtech system was awarded NSAI Certification two years ago. The product is also BBA certified and comes as the main component in a Gas Resistant system which also incorporates a Top Hat, Radon Tape, Gas Resistant Self Adhesive Tape, Laydex Sump and all other ancillary items when required. Feel free to contact us for any technical details or specs.

VISQUEEN REBRAND RADON MEMBRANE AS RADEX 3000 HIGH PERFORMANCE RADON MEMBRANE Laydex would like to inform you of a recent significant development, Visqueen NSAI certified Unreinforced Radon Barrier. After months of rigorous testing, Visqueen have now been issued a new NSAI certification for this product (NSAI Certificate No. 18/0402) confirming it as the market leading unreinforced radon barrier in the Irish market today. To support this achievement, Visqueen have launched a re-brand of this product which will now be known as VISQUEEN RADEX 3000 High Performance Radon Membrane. The packaging has been re-branded with this new brand name and the NSAI certificate also refers to the new brand name. Thankfully the new packaging still utilises Visqueen’s corporate colours and so closely resembles the old packaging and should result in a smooth transition in the marketplace to this new brand name. Manufacturing advances and increased technical performance have made this possible and we are delighted that Laydex, in conjunction with our manufacturer Visqueen, will continue to offer the Irish market with the unreinforced radon barrier of choice.

POLAR EXTREME LOFT LADDER WITH EXTREME INSULATION

LAYDEX HELPING TO DESIGN BUILDINGS FOR NZEB AND A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

Polar Extreme Ladder makes a significant contribution to protect the environment, conserve resources and also “protect your wallet”. Insulation thicknesses up to 247 mm and U-values up to 0.14 W/m²K contribute to low energy consumption in the home. An optimal, seamless gasket ensures that one can enjoy a pleasant room climate even on very icy days and save heating costs at the same time.

In Ireland, and throughout Europe, the construction community needs to prepare for nearly Zero Energy Building’ Regulations. What NZEB means for residential buildings? For all new builds, it is proposed that NZEB will lead to a 25% improvement in energy performance on the 2011 Building Regulations by way of higher insulation levels and an increase in the frequency of airtightness testing on every building. With these changes in mind we recommend Polar Extreme Loft Ladders and Tyvek® Water Resistant Membranes for all residential projects.

PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT WITH A WATER RESISTANT MEMBRANE TYVEK® SUPRO & SUPRO PLUS Tyvek ® Supro is the market-leading breather membrane, helping to protect roofs against wind and water, and also improve energy efficiency. Tyvek ® Supro and Supro Plus products are designed to withstand prolonged UV radiation and high temperatures, and come with full NSAI, BBA and IAB approval for use in all pitched roof constructions. Main membranes` benefits includes extremely water-resistant and vapour-permeable performance, airtightness and superior air and moisture management for commercial and residential buildings.

LAYDEX UPGRADE NSAI CERTIFICATION FOR COROTOP/ BREATHE-X BREATHABLE MEMBRANES Laydex are delighted to announce that we have recently upgraded our NSAI Certificate for our range of breathable membranes to reflect the new wind uplift criteria as laid out in the Building Regulations through the new Slating and Tiling Code of Practise. We can now confirm that our Corotop/ Breathe-X Breather Membranes ranging in weight from 100g/m2 up to 180g/m2 are fully certified by the NSAI and are in compliance with these new criteria.

INDUSTRY SNAPSHOT A total of 18,072 new housing units were completed in 2018 (+25% year on year). House building investment is expected to increase by 19.6% in 2019 and 11.9% in 2020. (Source: CIF Economic and Policy Research Bulletin, April 2019)
