Located on the main road of Ramamurthy Nagar, the holy family church remains as an attraction to the passers by. The priest Rev. Fr. Chinnapa says, “Nowadays the number of people coming to attend services in Holy Family Church has increased and so we may have to look for a still bigger place in the future so as to hold the crowd. The open area within the church premises has been utilized most often when the church is overcrowded. This clearly indicates the prayers of people are answered and the faith in Jesus, Mary and Joseph becomes stronger. Besides Kannada, Tamil, English and Malayalam languages, the services were offered in Konkani during Good Friday. Good Friday is the Friday within Holy Week, and is traditionally a time of fasting and penance, commemorating the anniversary of Christ's crucifixion and death. For Christians, Good Friday

commemorates not just a historical event, but the sacrificial death of Christ, which with the resurrection, comprises the heart of the Christian faith. Before His death, Jesus had promised eternal life to those who followed Him. If the story ended at His death, Jesus would have been no more than a religious figure with a finite life span. But the fact that Jesus rose from death demonstrated He has the power over death, and (Cont. on Page 4....) What is the best age to do science fair projects? The answer to this question is obvious when we look at the way Butterfly Fields creates interest in the young minds through its 'Learning by Doing' methodology. Butterfly Fields' summer camp is based out of various kinds of activities and experiences which are specifically designed to make the child understand the underlying concepts or principles and at Creative Writing the same time enjoying it. April 20 - 30, 2010 The idea is that science is about explaining the natural world and the children can't believe it if they don't see it. They learn the theories, but how do they know they really work, if they don't test them? Science has two parts -- observing Chess - 3 sessions in April phenomena and accounting for them, science education ought to cover both and so virtually every class in the sciences is paired with a complementary lab. Bangalore: Due to the Court Order, the BBMP elections had to be held on time. The complete process of commissioning the election officials turned out to be chaotic. Many did not know whether they were on duty or kept on reserve till the last minute. There was confusion even in the address of the training centre. The teams comprising of PRO and APRO and other polling officers took a long time to finally organise before the election duty. However barring a few incidents, the elections went on peacefully.

Bangalore: Some election officials sent some other substitutes for money in order to avoid the poor conditions present in poling booths. Such poor conditions - mosquitoes, no fan, toilets with no water, poor lightings - in the silicon city made the officials avoid thier duties. When the officials are not able to work just for one day in such conditions, how can education improve in these schools without basic facilities for school teachers. One of the drawbacks of education system in India is lack of infrastructure in government schools which prevents capable teachers from applying for teaching posts. Right to education act comes into force from 1 April. Every child 614 years have the right to education. Government has issued an order that 25% seats be reserved for the underprivileged. The argument of private institutions is how will these children cope in class rooms amidst children who have got admitted after studying LKG and UKG. One of the solutions can be that they have one complete section for this group so that the teachers can teach them from the scratch.

MIND WORKS-29 “Small Self”

Self” Vs “Big

By UK Athikkal

-----------

“I am not important”. “I am not capable”. “I am too small to be significant”. These are some of the types of internal dialogues that go on in the minds of a good majority of people. There is a common thread in all these thought processes: not happy about self, not accepting self, and not loving self. It is considered that such people lead a life with a mind set of “small self”. They live in a small world of their own making. Due to different factors which are mostly beyond their own conscious control, they happen to live with less selfesteem and self-confidence. They tend to live with an unhappy internal state of mind. Their positive expectations are limited. They live with tension, worry and grouse. Positive aspirations and desires are not generally their cup of tea. They don't fully appreciate their own achievements and successful life events since they have the habit of seeing those positive events through their negative prisms of comparison and dissatisfaction. Since they hold limited self-worth, it is difficult for them to appreciate themselves. Poor selfesteem and self love block such positive emotions and feelings in them. Now let us compare the above situation with another type of individual who has a self concept of “big self”. He is able to see issues and events of his life in a larger context. He doesn't limit his concern in terms of his own benefits and gains. He feels himself secure and confident whatever be the external

environment. This type of individual considers himself important and responsible to whatever happens to him. He may also face setbacks; but he faces as a challenge. He tries to learn from every such situation and thereby to bring about positive changes in his actions or behaviors. Life is more pleasant and enjoyable for this lot of people whatever the external events and situations they face. They do not grumble, worry, or find fault with everything or every one. With this awareness of small self and big self, we may observe more characteristics of these two groups. You will find the big self lot more generous and more forgiving in their nature. They don't get provoked easily. They will be found calm and composed. They are in a selfmotivated state and proactively helpful to others. We shall now start introspecting on a day today basis and evaluate all our actions and behaviors. Find out the occasions you behaved as small guy and decide then and there to change from that mould and behavior. Just see the fun. Positive changes may be heralding in your life style and behavior by this simple concept change. Small people spend their life in basic fear and the other big thinkers operate on love. MOVIE A Daring Feat: The Lovely Bones Like The Lord Of The Rings, The Lovely Bones does a fantastic job with revered, complex source material. As terrific on terra firma as it is audacious in its astral plane, it is doubtful we'll see a more imaginative, courageous film in 2010. The Lovely Bones, Peter Jackson's adaptation of Alice Sebold's surprising best seller, is at least five films in one and therefore the perfect film for these credit crunch times. Over its 135 minute running time — it carries this load lightly —

Jackson manages to squeeze in a touching teen romance, a gripping portrait of a serial killer, a family falling apart drama, an expressionistic after-life fantasy, a police procedural flick and, in one gripping set-piece, a fantastic retread of Rear Window. Jackson may not keep all these multiple plates spinning successfully, but this is bold, daring original filmmaking, with arguably more emotional and intellectual meat to chew Lovely Bones sound like a draining downer, it is poignant, gripping, emotionally alive and gorgeous.

Are We 25 Years Behind in Infrastructure Developments?

Branch-less Education Loan Program: Credila’s systems & processes resolve the key issue of visiting bank branches multiple times during the education loan process. Door step service for documentation. One-stop, efficient and customer friendly application process. Admission to paying of fees: Extremely Short Time. Credila’s sanction letter in time can resolve that problem. Flexibility to students & co-borrowers who reside at different cities / countries.

Bangalore: People are delighted to see some infrastructure developments in Indian cities such as Bangalore. Should we consider this as a great development and be proud of it? We would certainly be proud had these developments taken place 25 years before. Since 1947, Indian politicians, amassed huge wealth. Around 1995, many politicians diverted their wealth in various sectors to become rich business men besides being politicians. The progenies of Indian politicians are well settled with surplus wealth. A couple of years back, the Swiss government agreed to disclose the names of the account holders but the Indian government did not ask for the details. Why is it so?

This huge amount has been appropriated from the people of India by exploiting and betraying them.

Once this huge amount of black money comes back to India, the Central government will be able to maintain the country very comfortably India has $1,700 billion Black by abolishing all taxes. Our politicians fool the people by proudly announcing they are behind infrastructure developments in 2010. Many other districts of Karnataka are not yet developed. There is a certain amount of personal benefit in trying to show some developments in Bangalore city.

Who will need a rabies Shot? By VitaLife Clinic Even if a dog that bit you appeared to be healthy at the time of the bite, it is still likely that the animal had rabies. Therefore, it is a good idea to take some precautions if you are bitten by a dog. If you know the owner of the dog that bit you, ask for the pet's vaccination record (record of shots). An animal that appears healthy and has been vaccinated should still be quarantined (kept away from people and other animals) for 10 days to make sure it does not start showing signs of rabies. If the animal gets sick during the 10-day period, a veterinarian will test it for rabies. If the animal does have rabies, you will need to get a series of rabies injections. If the animal is a stray, or you can not find the owner of the dog that bit you, call the animal control agency or health department in your area. They will try to find the animal so it can be tested for rabies.

If the animal control agency or health department can not find the animal that bit you, if the animal shows signs of rabies after the bite, or if a test shows that the animal has rabies, your doctor will probably want you to get a series of rabies injections (also called post exposure prophylaxis). You need to get the first injection as soon as possible after the bite occurs. After you receive the first shot, your doctor will give you 5 more shots over a 28-day period.
