Policemen Discard Dying Old Man at Garbage Dump? Kundalahalli: Police jeep discarded an unidentified old man near the garbage dump at Shirdi Sai Nagar, in Munnekola. The old man was unconscious, just breathing without a clue of from where he was – and – are among people working at the garbage dump who say, “ Three policemen came in a jeep and they threw this old man and went.” Hafiz Alamgir and Mohamed Habish had a word with the policemen asking who the man is and why they leave the old man near garbage dump. It seems the policemen replied, “This man probably came from here.” Hafiz Alamgir and Mohamed Habish not from that locality. “The policemen had repeatedly argued that the old man was no patience to listen to us and they kept (Cont. on Page 4) going leaving the old man behind.” says
The Government Too Late Bewares when Danger is Past Marathalli: Hundreds of borewells have been dug without government approval in the city. The residents in many areas mainly depend on borewell water. The groundwater level is going down beyond 1000 feet mark. Two decades ago, the city had open wells with 20 feet of groundwater. The depleting water levels are really worrying. Soon it will reach the rocky layer of the earth. With the water level already going down, there is partiality in allocating borewells to different political parties. According to

Why Traffic Tumbles on a Rainy Day? Whitefield: Had Bangalore been near coastal areas like Chennai, it would have been flooded every year without fail. That's how Bangalore has been designed - the shoddy design and construction due to incompetence and corruption!! During rain, the time taken to travel on the roads leading to ITPL from MarathalliKundalahalli extends. Even before the roads become worse during the start of the rain, how and why the traffic tumbles in Bangalore city? It is mainly due to insincere driving and insincere effort from traffic police. Rain or cold weather does not paralyse traffic in many countries unless roads are inundated. But here during rain, people ignore signals and keep moving even after the red signal is on. On busy junctions in our cities, traffic police is must though signals are already doing the job. Where ever the signals do not function, the traffic police move away to find shelter during rain. As the traffic signals shut down in downpours, the police at times disappear, leaving it to the commuters to battle it out in the rain the best they can, which they do with much honking and heartburn.
Perhaps the police needs a bigger supply of rain coats to motive its personnel to remain on the roads when it gets too wet for comfort It is a fun to hear that a traffic police near HAL road forgot his rain coat and got soaked while doing his duty sincerely when the British Prime Minister visited HAL on Wednesday. The wait time in signals near Kundalahalli and surrounding signals have become two to three times more during rain compared to normal days. If the rain continuous in the city, the overflow of storm water drain will delay the traffic hours together as it started happening in other parts of Bangalore. Already on CMH road Indiranagar, waste along with dirty water gushed out of drains. The entire place became dirty making it difficult for pedestrians to walk. They have no option but to walk almost near the main road and moving vehicles to avoid dirty water and unknown potholes on the sides of the road. The only solution to these problems for the time being is 'nature.' Will the rain be moderate without flooding our city and the downpour happen in the midnight? Let's pray God for this to happen!!

Mr. Prime Minister, Will you Travel around a few more places in Bangalore? HAL: Bangalore was high on the agenda of the British Prime Minister David Cameron during his visit to India. It is quiet different from wishy washy trips by some of our ministers who hang around to take delight at the foreign land during the renure. Mr. Cameron was very clear and clever in putting forth his new business deals. Indian and UK signed a 700 million Pound-Sterling Defence agreement and are about to enter into a Civil Nuclear deal. Mr. Cameron agreed to lift the ban on export of Nuclear technology and components to India. His visit to HAL has given a bit of spit and polish to the roadsides along HAL walls. For years together some of these sidewalks along the wall remained ugly with garbage strewn around. Sometimes passers by used to urinate in the night. Overnight there is a change in the outlook of these places as the BBMP instructed its employees to clean. The respect that our country men give to his fellow Indians is relatively less than a foreign delegate. It is true that it's all about million pound dealings. We certainly have to hide our darker sides in front of outsiders. However, it is known to many that 70 percent of our population makes a poor living. Our senior citizens, sincere media personnel, the respectable citizens of Bangalore city several times appeal to the BBMP and complain about civic problems. It would be nice if these voices are heard seriously.

MOVIE - Dinner for Schmucks What do you get when you combine a swell French Comedy concept, a top American comedy director and two of the best comedy actors around? “Dinner for Schmucks” takes a leisurely gambol up to the party in which a bunch of arrogant twits each bring a dolt to dinner so they can mock them. The best thing about "Schmucks" is the skill and care with which Roach and his casting team have peopled the film's supporting parts. But just when "Dinner for Schmucks" should be kicking into gear, just when it should start making you really laugh because Carell enters the picture, that's the point at which the whole enterprise starts to fall apart. Tim, an up-and-coming executive, has just received his first invitation to the "dinner for idiots," a monthly event hosted by his boss that promises bragging rights (and maybe more) to the exec that shows up with the biggest buffoon. Tim's fiancée, Julie, finds it distasteful and Tim agrees to skip the dinner, until he bumps into Barry - an IRS
employee who devotes his spare time to building elaborate taxidermy mouse dioramas - and quickly realizes he's struck idiot gold. Tim can't resist, and invites Barry, whose blundering good intentions soon sends Tim's life into a frenzied downward spiral and a series of comic misadventures, threatening a major business deal, bringing crazy stalker ex-girlfriend, Darla, back into Tim's life and driving Julie (or so Tim thinks) into the arms of another man.

Policemen Discard Dying Old Man at Garbage Dump?
(Cont. from Page 1)
Hafiz Alamgir. “Insha Allah. The old man is just breathing and might not survive longer unless taken to a government hospital immediately. We poor people are helpless and we have kept him in our hut not knowing what to do.” says Mohamed Habish. “Whether Hindu or Muslim, he is a human being in the first place. How are the policemen so uncaring? asks Hafiz Alamgir. The above incident happened at around 11 a.m on Wednesday morning. When complaints about this incident were made to the police station, all the police stations in and around this area namely Varathur, HAL and Mahadevpura pointed out that the other police station is responsible for any such incident at Shirdi
Sai Nagar, Munnekola area. People who received calls at number 100 and 108 give the numbers of different police stations. The police stations in turn suggest calling 108 regarding this matter. Finally who is responsible? From where did the police jeep come to throw the old man? Who is the old man? What is happening at the garbage dumps in Shirdi Sai Nagar?

The Government Too Late Bewares when Danger is (Cont. from Page 1) Past (BBMP) not to sanction any new building plans for multi-storey apartments and complexes, unless the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) issues a no-objection certificate. These decisions are taken when Bangalore is full of multi-storeyed buildings. There are layouts where you hardly find independent houses. For example, Munnekola is full of huge apartments. The Outer Ring Road is dotted with huge high-rises. At every 10-20 meter distance a huge apartment is built. Besides commercial apartments are

Most of the apartment complexes on Sarjapur Road, Bellandur junction area, Bannerghatta Road, Whitefield and Marathalli depend on borewell water. Any measures by State Government to reduce construction of huge buildings is only a botch as they have allowed many without caring about water crises.
