The effort that was made in my diploma thesis, focused on how the complex of old and new buildings that is created can communicate with the surrounding area and to integrate into its environment. The reuse of the existing facilities is done with respect to their historicity and is based on subtle gestures aimed at preserving the character of the area, while modernizing the facilities and giving new life to the buildings.
Through its functions, it attempts to invite both the residents of Elefsina and visitors from all over Greece, turning the area into a pole of attraction. This gives them the opportunity to gain recognition and traffic, commensurate with their great historical and social significance.
In conclusion, a new center is being created - a landmark, which in combination with the existing archeological site will culturally upgrade the city, starting a discussion to give a solution to the problem of lack of functions on the coastal front and to trigger its further exploitation.
