“If you can't be seen, then you're not there,” they say. We wouldn’t go that far but, on the hand, we know the following to be true: “You can only be seen if you make yourself visible”. It’s as simple as that. No matter what industry you work in or what your working day is like, you are safer when others can see you more easily.

Different environments involve different degrees of risk, and so we – and the rest of the industry – categorise our Hi-Vis clothing into three different classes. This makes it easier to choose, and easier to know exactly what garment you need. We develop and design all of our Hi-Vis clothing with the same eye for detail and quality as other products and, for us, it goes without saying that they should be just as stylish, have the same good fit and the same smart functions as garments that are not Hi-Vis. That they will be equally comfortable is something you can also take for granted. Therefore, the majority of our Hi-Vis garments have details made with stretch reflective material details from 3M - easily the best reflective material in the market. With L.Brador Hi-Vis, you can also be assured of long-lasting garments and reflective details that you can trust to make you visible – from a long distance, and for a long time.

Hi-vis clothes are divided into three different classifications, depending on how much visibility they provide. Class 3 contains mainly jackets and coats, and garments for your upper body. These will create the most visibility, thanks to the larger surface of the garment. Their reflective details are from 3M and we have worked very hard to create garments with maximum protection and absolute highest comfort and mobility.

Within this category, mostly hi-vis pants equipped with larger batches of reflexes and fluorescent textiles are featured. What model you should choose depends on how well you need to be seen at work. For the vast majority »the more the better« is applied. These garments are available in a variety of models, and which one you choose can be based on what you like best.

In many workplaces, Hi-Vis apparel is the norm even though it is not a direct legal requirement. One example is the larger building sites, where you can choose a pair of pants from class 1, together with a reflective shirt, vest or jacket to achieve sufficient visibility throughout the working day.

THEREFORE, L.BRADOR HAS CHOSEN 3M REFLECTIVE MATERIAL. In order to be safe, you need to be seen. On most of L.Brador’s Hi-Vis garments you will find something crucial for visibility – reflective stretch material from 3M. Let us demonstrate the difference this can make.

In order to develop really good Hi-Vis clothing, every detail and quality aspect must be applied without compromise. When it comes to reflective material, the choice has been easy for L.Brador. For many years, 3M has developed the market's leading reflective materials, with properties that provide maximum visibility and durability. That is why you will find 3M reflective material on many of our Hi-Vis garments.

Tests in L.Brador’s test lab also show that the advantage of using 3M material is even more obvious when the garments has been washed 15 times. The tests showed that the reflective visibility of lower quality materials degrades, while that of the 3M material is maintained to a very high degree.

How well can you see the 3M reflective material? We ran a test using the headlights from a Huddig 1260 D excavator. The 3M reflective material is very good at 50 metres, but the difference between it and other commonly used materials is most noticeable at longer distances. At 100 metres, the reflective visibility of the 3M material is only slightly less than what it is at 50 metres.

This comfortable felted wool top is made in collaboration with Ivanhoe of Sweden, a family company from Gällstad that has made knitted wool garments for seventy years.
