Jock Selkirk CFO, Selkirk Group of Companies “Supporting our employees to participate in the Leaders Forum program is very important to us. We recognise that investing in our people through their career journey by enabling them to challenge their perspectives and experiences is a great way to help them think differently. I have always greatly appreciated when people have given up their time to expand my learnings and it also helps you to stop and reflect on your own experiences. It really is a win-win situation, one that rewards both the employer and the employee along the way.

Talina Edwards, 2016 Talina Edwards Architecture “As a sole practitioner, the program gives me the opportunity to be better connected with some amazing people in our community who are doing really great things, including the presenters, the people in the communities we visit and my fellow participants. I love that we develop personal and professional skills to enable us to take action. I feel very fortunate that as an architect it comes with my job description to communicate and collaborate with people, envisage a concept for the future, design a desired outcome, plan and map out the road to get there, and then bring together a team to deliver. I’m proud to now call Ballarat home and look forward to helping make our regional city an even better – and more sustainable – place to live.”

Jon Kanoa, 2016 EO, Grampians Regional Aboriginal Justice Advisory Committee “The program has challenged my thinking on various topics that impact not just the Koori community, but also the wider community, and the role we need to play to improve our relationships with each other and move forward together. The best part for me is the bond we share as a group. Although I have only known the other participants a short time, the impact they have had on me has been invaluable and I look forward to sharing my journey with my fellow brothers and sisters beyond this year.
