Wavy pendants

Wavy pendants In LC Tools we produce an unique ripple and zigzag blades for polymer clay - LC Wavy Blades. This simple tutorial shows how to work with them.

Materials and supplies: polymer clay in several colors, LC Wavy blades, big circle-shaped cookie cutter (mold), polymer clay liquid, sandpaper, scalpel, needle, piece of buna cord, superglue

2. Using the ripple blade cut sheets into lots of waves.

1. Prepare three sheets of the same width, the difference will be in textures. The first one is smooth, for the second one I used fine texture sponge and for the third sheet I used rough sponge.

4. Neaten the edges and add black parts on both sides...

5. Bake it on a form. I usually use this form for bracelets.

3. Start to put waves next to each other. In this case it is good to work on paper so you can move the waves.

6. For the next pattern use the same blade. But this time cut the sheet in a different way – into “bobble” stripes.

7. Again, put stripes of different colours next to each other and another pattern is here. And for the third patern combine classic waves and bobble stripes.

8. Add black parts on both sides and bake it on a round form.

9. Cut another sheets with the first zigzag blade.

10. Put them next to each other, add black parts again and bake...

11. Meanwhile take these three baked pieces out of oven.

12. Smooth edges of future pendant, so you can wrap them with another clay more easily.

13. Coat the back part and edges with liquid clay.

14. Condition black clay, put it through pasta machine on the second thinnest setting and texture it using fine texture sponge. Then put this sheet on pendant.

15. Cut leftovers with scalpels. And bake pendant again.

16. Try another patterns with the third blade with bigger teeth. In the picture you can see difference of results when using the second and the third zigzag blade.

17. Just as the wavy blade, use also the zigzag one and made pattern from plump stripes.

18. Black colour between the green and orange make great contrast :).

19. Now you need to make a thread part for pendants... Took a rectangle and twist it around a needle. Texture the joint with a sponge.

20. Carefully take down the thread part from needle and spread one side with liquid and fix it to back part of pendant. And bake again...

21 . Cut off piece of buna cord and using superglue I stuck both ends into holes in thread part.

22. And this is how it ended up :). Simple pendant with example of pattern.

23. One more pendant...

24. I tried to put various triangles over this black-white-red pattern and it also doesn’t look bad. Author, photo: www.lucystruncova.com
