THE ONLINE PORTAL FOR ORGANISATION & MANAGEMENT OF EXPERIMENTS, DEVICES, LITERATURE AND LICENSES

Ley Lab

Ley Lab

... is an online portal for managing experiments, devices, documents and licences. The cloud allows teachers and trainers to access and use the information at any time, from anywhere.

LeyLab supports modern and digital preparation, efficient implementation and time-saving review of scientific and technological classes and lab work. Nothing needs to be installed for use. Seamless integration with common Learning Management Systems (LMS) enables a connection between experiments and the learning platform being used.

LeyLab supports teachers, trainers, lab technicians and central administrative offices in realising the full potential of a collection of experiments.

You can access all the information at any time and from anywhere:

During lesson preparation, LeyLab lists all the experiments for a given topic and displays on your PC at home whether or not all the necessary devices for the class or lab work are available.

In the device collection, all you need to do is scan the barcode on a given device with your smartphone to open the manual or look up which cabinet the device belongs in.

During classes and lab work, students can open the experiment instructions directly in the browser on any device simply by clicking on a link in a LMS or using a QR code in the classroom.

LeyLab is an open system: You can easily create your own experiments, upload your own worksheets and videos and inventory the complete device collection, including devices from any manufacturer. And of course, the entire LD experiment library and all devices from LD are already included.

ACCESS TO A HUGE EXPERIMENT DATABASE

01| EXPERIMENT COLLECTION

In the LeyLab online portal, teachers and trainers always have access to an extensive experiment database: both the entire LD experiment library and their own compiled collections as well as shared experiments from colleagues can be used for teaching and training. It is also quite easy to supplement the experiments, e.g. with your own documents and videos.

 Access to complete LD experiment library with all relevant information

 Simple, flexible creation of your own experiments, for just personal use or also accessible to colleagues

 Quick search for names, departments and topics with filter function

 Straightforward additions to the experiments, e.g. with documents like PDFs, videos, links to websites and photos

Search for experiments shows among other things the availability of devices

Listing of all devices required for the experiment with availability, number and location

FOR EVERY EXPERIMENT:

 Description of the experiment

 List of necessary devices with:

 Link to all information about the devices

 Indication of whether devices are available

 Device storage location

 Corresponding experiment instructions and other documents and media

FOR ALL DEVICES

02| DEVICE COLLECTION

LD products can be added in a user-friendly way via a simple click from the integrated device library. Information such as storage location and comments can be added easily.

 Access to all devices from LD DIDACTIC, including an archive of old devices

 Flexible addition of devices from other manufacturers

 Search for names, topics or article numbers with filter function

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE FULL POTENTIAL OF THE DEVICE COLLECTION:

Digital inventory creation with LeyLab

 Identification of individual devices using customisable inventory numbering

 Support for common barcodes, barcode scanner and QR codes

 Convenient setup through import of existing inventory lists (csv) with automatic addition of the storage locations

 Tracking of lend or defective equipment

 Export of inventory lists, hazardous substance lists and more

FOR EVERY DEVICE:

 List of all experiments that can be performed with the device

 Link to all information about the experiments

 Corresponding manuals, safety data sheets and other documents and media

All devices available in the collection are displayed, incl. number and storage location

DIGITALLY AVAILABLE DOCUMENTS AND MEDIA

03| LITERATURE, DOCUMENTS AND MEDIA

LeyLab allows teachers and trainers to access documents and media from anywhere, at any time, regardless of device and operating system. Purchased LD literature can be viewed with the corresponding experiments. After licensing, authorised colleagues will automatically have access to the LD experiment literature without installing anything additional. All documents in the cloud are up-to-date. You can even upload your own experiment instructions.

An additional plus of LeyLab is the option to share literature and documents with students via temporary links without having to manage student accounts. The link can easily be created at the press of a button, added to the learning management system, sent via messenger or email or displayed in the classroom as a QR code. The students then open the link, e.g. to an experiment instructions, directly in the browser –without the need for any sort of app.

04| LICENCE MANAGEMENT

 All licences for software and literature from LD located centrally and securely in the cloud

 No more searching for notes with licence codes, smooth exchange between colleagues

 Licenced literature is immediately available in LeyLab, no installation or licence code submission required by the entire institution

 Licensed software can be downloaded directly from LeyLab

 The licence can be retrieved automatically from LeyLab

All available documents, e.g. literature and videos, are displayed directly with the experiment (Documents tab)

CONNECT LEYLAB WITH LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

05| DISTRIBUTION OF DIGITAL EXPERIMENT INSTRUCTIONS

The digital, interactive experiment instructions Lab Docs can be used across all common learning management systems. This is done by linking the Lab Doc in LeyLab to an assignment in the LMS in just a few clicks.

Students can open the Lab Doc via the link in the assignment. After setting up, performing and evaluating the experiment, students can save their individual digital protocols directly in the LMS via a button in the Lab Doc.

The submission automatically ends up in the correct assignment. The teacher or trainer also has an overview of the results in LeyLab and can even save all the answers from the entire class in a table (csv).

Students receive an assignment with a link to the Lab Doc in the LMS.

Students save their results in the LMS.

Lab Docs are flexible and can also be used with any other learning platform. The link to a Lab Doc can be inserted into an assignment in any LMS. The students export their protocol directly in the Lab Doc as a PDF and submit this in the learning platform.

LAB DOCS ARE ALREADY SUPPORTED BY THE FOLLOWING LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS:

 Microsoft Teams for Education

 Moodle

 and other platforms based on Moodle

Students submit assignments in the LMS.

Teachers and trainers can provide corrections, feedback, and evaluations via their usual methods in their respective learning platform. No additional administrative effort is required.
