APPROACH
Matter, by itself, can contain, shelter, touch and attract forces. We are matter, and are surrounded by it. The immaterial moves bodies, illuminates volumes, causes feelings, evokes beliefs, becoming primordial in our lives. Architecture is the expression of both, and space is its main resource.
I approach architecture & object design through the study, experimentation and understanding of its material and intangible qualities. Every model, drawing, and image made in my process, is a method to achieve the preciseness & beauty of each concept.

Patel originates from the textil tradition of Saltillo (México) and the design inquietude of rethink it’s application. The chair is composed by two pieces: body and clothing. The body is molded in mexican pine. The clothing is knitted in the “Sarapes” worshops by the craftsman Hector Tamayo. Each piece is unique, they come from craftsman ability and inspiration, and the concept and the questioning of the designer. All the pieces are loaded with a theoretical and technical background.

The series “Typos” use the archeotypes structure of the ordinary objects as a point of departure for the creation of other objects with different function and aspect. Homonyms reflect about the power of the “original ideas”, the perfect specimens that have remained over time. “Limo” it’s the first piece of this series, it generates from the legs extension of a traditional wood stool until it becomes a coat rack. The intermediate plate gives stability to the piece and allows you to place other objects on it. 04

A great facade of lattice from the “Bajio area protects an entrance patio, this space with regulated sunlight becomes the extension of the interior social area. This lattice filter the intense sunlight characteristic from this region and projects the flowers pattern at the white wall behind, which change their position and intensity along the day. For his efficiency, the house is organized in two wings, the east wing for servant spaces and the west wing for served spaces. 08

The Mazahua Pavillion assembly consits in the repetition of two modules of simple construction. The “garden module” and “camara module”. The garden module permits to grow vegetation inside the pavilion by the inclination of the roof bringin rain water and light to it’s center. The camara module shelters the program and services (kitchen, higiene room, dressing room and screening room) each of them has a color that represents one of the four elements, these color intensifies with the natural light coming from the skylights. The centre is the sum result of the cover extensions, liberating an open space apt for the display of tradional mazahua ceremonies and dances. 12

Stones Park becomes the meeting point of the cyclists and pedestrians flowing along the Dunajska cesta. The modular units as stones, house the required program and carry the monolith slab, sheltering the main space of the building, plain and continuos to the path of the bike lane. Hidden inside the monolithic modules, the artificial presence of the service activities do not alter the promenade in the park, leaving only the main space for the contemplation of the landscape.
RISING FOREST DATE: APRIL 2013. SALTILLO, MÉXICO. DESIGN BY: DANIEL VALERO & IVANKA ALONSO COMPETITION: TRIANGLE FIRE MEMORIAL COMPETITION REMEMBERTHETRIANGLEFIRE.ORG/COMPETITION/
The main idea came with the vision of a forest, taking into account the Washington Square Park found very close. The idea of a playful passage of tree logs evolved into the idea of creating reflective monoliths with, of course, glass. Why reflective glass? First of all because it modifies in a very subtle way the faรงade of the building. Because they are cylinders, the perspective changes, creating a different texture and rhythm to the construction. The other reason is because the aim of the project is to become an empathetic reflection for the pedestrian.

The oldware house has been the school of architecture for the last six years, it transformed the way the alumni was educated and the lifestyle of the architecture student. A newintervention is neccesary to potential the architecture value of the warehouse, it’s roof. A place for everybody to work and interact with others ideas and below this fantastic concrete shellter, All the workshops would be together sharing the same space, with a hierarchical position, and the possibility to interact with the collegues of higher or lower grade. The spaces below provide the necessary spaces to shelter computer aulas, models workshop or projection halls. 24
