Why did we start? We talked to lots of people. people wanted to get fitter Some didn’t like exercise Lots were eating takeaways instead of cooking fresh food Some people were on diets Some people had become couch potatoes
Everyone wanted to do something
What We Did • We looked at ways to get more people living a healthier lifestyle • We set challenges and encouraged people to take part • It soon became .... ‘we can do better than you can’ The challenge began!!!!
North Wales Challenge • 500 mile challenge - BLASTED! • People in North Wales Cycled their way through a total of 1043 miles
Mid Wales
Feeling Brilliant I helped out at a care home. I loved it They loved me I know go and volunteer there on a regular basis It makes me feel brilliant!
South Wales 500 hours of exercise – Smashed it!! • People in South Wales started to get active and recorded the amount of time they did an active task. Dance, swim, cycle, walk and so much more....
Zumba and Seated Zumba • Sue and Michele both joined Zumba classes • Sue joined Zumba dance • Michele joined seated Zumba
Wii Fit
• We even set up a wii bike in one of our offices, anyone that came into the office was encouraged to have a go. Even Phil from the ICT department took part during his lunch break

Your never too old to learn • Colin had never played football, never been part of a team/ • At the age of 62 he went along and talked to the club • He joined and trained that evening • He has played matches and been on tour • And won most inspiring player award
Tommy Lloyd making a difference • Tommy enjoys boxing and loves interacting with Young People and making a difference to the lives of others. • He heard of Cartrefi Cymru and was overwhelmed with the testimonials made by the people supported by them. • He decided to run the Brighton 10 mile run, with all donations going to Cartrefi. Tommy says it was the furthest he has ever run • He is currently running 2 to 3 times a week and can’t wait for a new challenge.

Other things we can do I joined a healthy lifestyle course and learned about eating healthily. Change for life App Change for life bar scanner Sensory World Then I entered in the Bob Cook Games I won 6 medals. I had never done anything like that before.

The office staff helped us all • Cathryn sent out messages reminding people about what to do in hot weather – Wear long sleeves, put sun tan lotion on even if you are sitting in the shade – Drink plenty of water
