Visitors to the Expo can visit the booths of local businesses and organizations, sign up for special show pricing and enter several prize drawings. Area restaurants will be providing complimentary food samples. The Expo is held at Niles High School, 1441 Eagle St., Niles, from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday. There is no admission fee for this event. well as the general public, are invited to take advantage of this preview of a wide variety of retail, commercial and service business es clos e to home.
This year’s keynote speaker is Brett Eastburn of No Boundaries. Eastburn was born with no arms and no legs, but more importantly, he truly believes that he was also born with no handicaps. Eastburn says you’re a success only if you choose to be. He also says you are handicapped only if you allow yourself to be. Eastburn considers his body a special gift to be used to inspire others to be the best they can be. Eastburn has spoken for corporate
motivation events, corporate comedy/ motivation events, club comedy, high schools, junior highs, grades 2-6, churches, industry, military and police groups. Eastburn will take the Auditorium Stage at 3:30 and 6 p.m. There is no admission fee. Barbara Craig, chairperson of Exposing Greatness, said the expo will provide local businesses the chance to interact with each other to promote local commerce and give individuals a pre-
view of the goods and services offered by businesses in their community. “Individuals and businesses can really benefit from promoting our loc a l e c o n o m y, ” Craig said. Visitors to previous expos have commented on how much fun it is visiting the eclectic mix of businesses, winning prizes, sampling great food and networking with colleagues. The Expo is presented by the Four
Flags Area Chamber of Commerce, the Buchanan Area Chamber of Commerce, Lake Michigan College Bertrand Crossing, Le ader P ublications, Southwestern Michigan Economic Growth Alliance, and sponsored by United Federal Credit Union and Lakeland Healthcare. The Southwestern Michigan Economic Growth Alliance has been partnering with business and community leaders since 1982 to build and support a strong economy throughout the Greater Niles–Buchanan Area and Southwestern Berrien County. Over 30 years later, and with an expanded regional focus, we are able to present our community as part of a larger area, rich in resources for business growth and development. Through our Investor’s continued support, we are able to attract and retain jobs and businesses. Our Investors are committed to improving the overall economic vitality of the Southwestern Alliance footprint, and the larger region. Our investors not only invest in themselves, they are investing in the community we all live, work and play in, which will essentially benefit all who invest in our community. Investor contributions provide a direct benefit to our community by enabling this local economic development organization to encourage business attraction, business growth, workforce development, education, and well-planned infrastructure expansion.
