S.K.I.P. (3 mos. - 36 mos.)

S.K.I.P (Shrimp, Kippers, Inias, Perch) is a progressive class. It is a 30 minute class with the primary objective to get both parent and child comfortable in the water. The instructor will have parents learn by example on how to guide their children through positive reinforcement and appropriate praise.

Polliwog (6 - 14 years) 45 minute class designed for school-age child that focuses on getting children acquainted with the water, basic front and back paddle, and the ability to float. Guppy (6 - 14 years) 45 minute class designed to teach basic front crawl, back crawl, sidestroke, breaststroke and elementary backstroke without the aid of flotation. Minnow (6 - 14 years) 45 minute intermediate level 1 that focuses on refinement of skill learned in Guppy and teaches more advanced diving skills. Fish/Flying Fish/Shark (6-14 years) 45 minute advanced level that focuses on endurance, development of butterfly stroke, and turns, while improving skills learned in previous levels. Porpoise (6-14 years) The final level of the Youth Swim Program differs from the previous levels in that it has an aquatic based club format which introduces youths to the CPR and First Aid skills necessary to be an aquatic professional employee when they reach the age of 15. As a porpoise, children will take fun and exciting field trips to help build them into young adults.

Starfish (3-5 years) 30 minute advanced class designed to refine the technique of all four competitive strokes. We will also introduce diving skills, endurance swimming, and survival techniques.

YOUTH Program

Classes for children 6-14 years that focus on learning - not passing or failing. Each level has five components to promote health and fitness: personal safety, stroke development, water sports and games, personal growth and rescue. Swimmers must master the skills of each level before progressing to the next level.
