WEEKEND PROGRAM RETREAT

Welcome LEAFers!

A GLOBAL FAMILY CONNECTED THROUGH MUSIC & ARTS

WELCOME! We are so GRATEFUL YOU are here as part of the magical Retreat designed for Members who support & believe in LEAF's mission! The new flow of SPRING RETREAT & FALL FESTIVAL is a great complement for our spirits & the land. As you settle into your LEAF, join us with grateful hearts & open minds. Enjoy the place, conversations & rediscovering the world, friends new & old as well as the best of ourselves. We are grateful to be connecting and learning here at beautiful Lake Eden in the spirit of RETREAT to nurture our spirits.

The journey of each of our own discovery & inquiry of roots of family & land, inspired uplifting the indigenous First Nations of The Americas. It’s appreciation, it’s remembrance, it’s a window into the origins of humankind. It’s rediscovering the magic of the ancients through song, dance, music & stories. In this spirit, "Legends of The Americas" theme was chosen for the year to encourage learning and connecting. We poured lots of love into creating a program to make your heart sing, stir your curiosity & move your feet. With legendary pioneers like The Headhunters and many incredible acts from all over the Americas, including Guatemala, Peru, Mexico, Venezuela, Aztec & Cherokee Nations! Enjoy this inspiring celebration of music, culture, community and life! Legends of The Americas!

Remember as a Member, YOU are collaborating with LEAF & communities in our own neighborhood & around the world to support culture keepers who teach local youth their traditional arts. This is life-changing work! You join a community honoring traditions & cultures... plus some fun festive benefits & connections for YOU too! If you are not a member, please join for 100% supports LEAF International & Schools & Streets!

HOLA, BIENVENIDA LEAF INTERNATIONAL Guatemala!

11 Talented ambitious young musicians are coming to connect the world to Mayan-inspired musical traditions from their country. See this fun, energetic ensemble all LEAF with marimba, mandolins & more! Since 2007, LEAF, PEG & Child Aid together with CEDIN school kids & parents in El Tejar have created one of the most extraordinary music programs. The kids rise up each playing MANY instruments, & through the music they have transformed their community.

LEAF SCHOOLS & STREETS

Singing & Recording Inspiring Youth Voices

Connecting YOUTH to LOCAL songwriters who are using their songs & voices for POSITIVE CHANGE has been a weekly hit deep in the schools since September. LEAF Local Teaching Artists led by Melissa McKinney's vision are brilliantly engaged with the kids. Gratitude to Chorus America & our Kennedy Center Partner in Arts Education Team with BCS for recognizing the positive power of this project!
