AFTER TWO WEEKS OF PLAY AT ROOSEVELTS - TODD COOK AND MATT DESSERT SHARE THE TOP HONORS AT 28 POINTS EACH Table 1 hosted #3 Jim Pellerito against #12 Mike Bates in week 2. Mike did not miss a beat in the 8 Ball Set as he kept Jim on the seat most of the set with some nice shooting and decent safe play. When the smoke had cleared from the table, Mike had won all 4 games in the set for a 4 - 0 set win. In the 9 Ball Set, Jim regained his eye and nailed a win in the first game to get on the board. Mike won game 2 with a 59 combo to tie Jim. Jim then got hot and nailed back to back wins in the set and jumped on the hill with a 3 game to 1 lead. But, Mike being a very good shooter put together wins in the next three games to hold off Jim from winning the set. Mike takes the set, 4 - 3 for Jim. Mike opened the 10 Ball Set nailing wins in his opening two games which included a 2-10 combo. Jim found his only win in the set in game 3. From that game on, it was all Mike again nailing back to back wins in games 4 & 5 to finish the set, 4 games to 1 for Jim. Mike wins the match, 15 to 4 for Jim. Great effort by Jim and nice shooting by Mike. #1 Todd Cook vs #2 Walt Wnuk on Table #2 Todd got off to a very quick start

nailing wins in the first three games of the 8 Ball Set to get on the hill before Walt could get on the board. Walt then picked up his game and posted back to back wins in games 4 & 5. Walt was unable to hold Todd off and found himself on the short end of the stick as Todd finished the set winning game 6. Walt rebounded from the first set opening the 9 Ball Set with wins in the first two games. Todd made some nice shots and came right back winning games 3 & 4. Game 4 found Todd nailing a 4-9 combination to shorten the game. Walt jumped on the hill first winning game 5 looking to square up the match. Unfortunately Todd again made some nice shots coupled by some missed opportunities by Walt and put together wins in the 6th and 7th games to finish off the set 4 games to 3. Todd seemed to be in his own rhythm and started in the 10 Ball Set winning game one. He continued some nice shooting winning game 2, nailed a 10 ball on the break in game 3 and before Walt knew what happened, it was over as Todd won the final game and the set, 4 games to 0. Good effort by Walt and nice shooting by Todd who wins the match, 15 to 5 for Walt. Table 3: #4 David Javorski vs #11 Gary Loverde Dave jumped out first nailing a win in game 1 of the 8 Ball Set. That would be all Dave could muster in the

set as Gary ran thru the next 4 games winning the set, 4 games to 1 for Dave. It looked like a different player in the second set, going from easy misses to someone who couldn’t miss as Dave turned the tables on Gary in the 9 Ball Set. It was a quick set as Dave won all four games keeping Gary off the score sheet in the set, winning 4 games to 0. Dave continued to shoot good and opened the 10 Ball Set winning game one of the set. Gary still reeling from the 2nd set, came out and nailed back to back wins to take the lead, that included a 8-10 combination in game 2. Again Dave fought back and won game 4 and did not stop winning until he had finished the set with a 4 games to 2 set win. Dave wins the match with 11 points to 7 points for Gary. Nice shooting by Dave and good try to Gary. Table 4: #5 Peter Ramonat vs #10 John Surhigh Peter starts the 8 Ball Set with the opening win followed by John who posted a win in game 2. Peter then put together back to back wins in games 3 & 4, putting him on the hill. John nailed a win In game 5 to close the gap a little. Peter did not give John a chance to get back into it as he closed continued below left

Peter found a lonely win in game three before John put the hammer down and posted back to back wins in games 4 & 5 to close out the set, 4 games to 1. John had a 1 point lead in the match going into the 10 Ball Set. Peter jumped out quickly in the set posting wins in games 1 & 2. John then got into a groove and won the 3rd game and but did not stop there. Peter did not know what happened as John did not stop making 10 balls until the set was over. John wins the set, 4 games to 2 for Peter. John wins the match, 12 to 8 for Peter in a very close match. Good shooting by both players.

Table 6: #6 Ray Ressler vs #9 John Killett If it could go wrong for John it did in last weeks match with Ray. Ray opened the 8 Ball Set with a win in game one and coupled by several mistakes by John, Ray cruised in the set 4 games to 0 for John. It did not get any easier in the 9 Ball Set as John continued to struggle. Ray again won all four games with help during the set by John again. In the10 Ball Set it looked like the previous two sets as John could not get his shooting eye working and loses the final set, 4 games to 0 again. Ray wins the match 15 to 0 for John. A valiant effort to John and nice shooting by Ray. Table 7: #7 Matt Dessert vs #8 Jim Vohs Matt continues to shoot good and Jim seemed to struggled a bit in last weeks match. Matt opened with back

to back wins in the 8 Ball Set. Jim notched a win in game 3 and then watched Matt finish off the set nailing wins in games 4 & 5 to finish off the set. Matt won game 1 in the 9 Ball Set with Jim matching him in game 2. Matt then took off again, nailing back to back wins to get on the hill. Jim made a run at taking the set winning games 5 and 6 to tie Matt on the hill. Matt again found a way to win and takes the set, 4 games to 3. Matt continued to shoot well and nailed wins in the first three games of the 10 Ball Set. Jim found his only win in the set in game 4 as Matt nailed a win in game 5 to win the set, 4 -1. Matt wins the match 15 to 5 for Jim. Good try by Jim and nice shooting by Matt.

#20 JOE LOPICCOLA TAKES A 3 POINT LEAD OVER #19 MIKE BATES AFTER 6 WEEKS OF PLAY - DOUG HANGS AROUND IN THIRD PLACE

Mike MacMahon was working and unable to get home to get his cue stick so he went to work using a house cue in week #6. He seemed to stay focused and posted four straight wins in the 8 Ball Set against Dave. Dave could not seem to get on track and loses the set 4 games to 0. Mike continued his dominance in the 9 Ball Set with his good shooting coupled by Dave’s mistakes he breezed through the set with another 4 zip set win. Dave was now a bit on the frustrated side going into the 10 Ball Set. He again would make some nice shots and come up short with misses that gave Mike more opportunity to win games. Mike again continued

his fine shooting and nailed (4) more straight wins in the set. Mike wins the match, 15 to 0 for Dave, winning all 12 games in the match. A valiant effort to Dave and nice shooting by M&M.

#17 Kent Jenkins vs #13 Jim Pellerito on Table #3 Kent opened up the 8 Ball Set nailing an 8 ball on the break to win the opening game without Jim getting to the table. Jim nailed a win in game 2 and then Kent got hot and kept Jim at bay most of the set, winning the next (3) games to close out the set, 4 games to 1. Kent continued his winning ways in the 9 Ball Set as Jim continued to struggle to make shots and watched Kent post 4 straight wins to close of the 9 ball set, 4 games to 0. The 10 Ball Set was no picnic for Jim either as Kent continued to keep him off balance with nice safes and good shooting. Kent finished off Jim 4 games to 0 with 11 straight wins in the match. Kent wins the match, 15 to 1 for Jim. Nice try by Jim and nice shooting by Kent.

Victor was working on his car and came to the pool parlor a bit rushed and came in a bit on the flat side to start his match. Omar jumped out to a two game lead in the 8 Ball Match in their opening set. Victor seemed to settle down and nailed back to back wins in games 3 & 4. Omar fought back and nailed a win in game 5 to get to the hill. Victor again seemed to get back in focus and posted a win in game 6 to match Omar on the hill. Victor put the set away nailing a win in game 7 for a 4-3 win. Omar opened up the 9 Ball Set with a win in game 1 and Victor matched him winning game 2. They exchanged the next two games each with Victor making the hill first. Again, Omar stalled and Victor got out with a win in game 7 to take the 9 ball set, 4 games to 3. In the 10 Ball Set, for the third time in a row, Omar opened with the win in game

1. Victor again got into his groove and nailed back to back wins in games 2 & 3. Omar made some nice shots and nailed a win in game 4. Victor climbed on the hill winning game 5 and was on the verge of taking the third set until Omar got back into his own rhythm. Omar nailed a win in game 6 and backed it up winning game 7 and the 10 ball set, 4 games to 3. This match went the distance with all 21 games being played. Victor edges out Omar with a 13 to 11 win in the match. Great shooting by two accomplished players

Table 5 : #19 Mike Bates vs #11 John Killett John continues his struggles to finish games in his matches. Mike Bates continues to play very well and remains in 2nd place after last weeks match. With John struggling, Mike breezed through the 8 Ball Set, the 9 Ball Set and the 10 Ball Set uncontested by John. When John got a chance to finish a game, his error led to another loss. Mike wins 12 games as John could not find a win in any of the sets. Mike wins 15 to 0. A valiant effort to John and nice shooting by Mike B. Table #6: #20 Joe Lopiccola vs #10 Jake Richey Joe opened up the 8 Ball Set winning the first game and then continued on his shooting run with wins in the next 3 games to finish off Jake without a win in the set. Joe continued his fine shooting and Jake continued to struggle, and on the misses he watched Joe finish off the 9 Ball Set, posting 8 wins in a row. Jake got on the board with a win in the 2nd game of the 10 Ball Set, stopping Joe’s run streak at 9 straight. Joe again got into his groove and posted wins in the next three games to finish off Jake in the set. Joe wins the fiTable 9: #4 Scott Kroll vs #7 Brandon Rayl Brandon started the 8 Ball Set with a win to get off to a good start. Scott had his own ideas and nailed wins in the next three games to get on the hill quickly with a 3-1 lead. Brandon fought back taking game 5 but then stalled as Scott found the magic number, which was game 6 to close out the set, 4 games to 2 for Brandon. Brandon seemed to have his problems in the 9 Ball Set as Scott started with a win in game 1 and kept Brandon off the table most of the set. Scott notched game 2, posted a very quick win in game 3 with a 1-9 combo and finished off the set without Brandon getting on the board. Scott wins the set, 4 – 0. Brandon seemed to get some of

nal set, 4 games to 1. Joe wins the match, 15 t0 1 for Jake. A very good effort by Jake and nice shooting by Joe. Table #7: #15 Mike Jernigan vs #1 Ron Price This was another top match for the week as both players have shown their shooting skills the last several weeks. Mike J opened up the 8 Ball Set with back to back wins to go 2 up on Ron. Ron came right back and nailed back to back wins in the 3rd and 4th games to square up the set. It was wins in two’s as Mike J won the final two games to take the set, 4 games to 2. Ron opened up the 9 Ball Set nailing the opening win and watched Mike J nail a 1-9 combo in game two to match him. Mike posted his second win in game 3 before Ron went to work and put together 3 very nice wins in the next three games to finish of Mike in the 9 ball set, 4 games to 2. This evened up the match with both players sitting on 7 points each. Ron again opened up nailing a win in game 1 in the 10 Ball Set . Mike countered with his own nice shooting to win game 2. At this point, with some nice shooting by Ron and missed opportunities by Mike J, Ron posted wins in the next three games to close out the set, 4 games to 1. Ron wins the match, 12 to 8 for Mike. Good shooting by both players in a tough match.

Table 8: #3 Doug Johnson vs #8 Wayne Brill Wayne was on his way to an opening win in the 8 Ball Set when a scratch gave Doug the win. That did not stop Wayne from continuing to shoot decent and nailed back to back wins in the 2nd and 3rd games of the set. Doug came right back and posted wins in the next three games to close out Wayne 4 games to 2 in the set. Doug continued to make outstanding shots and position play and opened up the 9 Ball Set, with a break and run out, keeping Wayne off the table in the first game. It seems with that momentum, Doug notched win after win in the set and finished off Wayne, winning 4 games to 0. Wayne seemed to get his stroke back in the 10 Ball Set only after Doug opened with back to back wins, making it 6 games in a row. Wayne came right back and with some nice shooting and good safe play, won his next three games in a row to jump on the hill. He could not contain Doug who won the 6th game and shortened the 7th game with a 8-10 combo to win the set. Doug wins the match 15 to 5 for Wayne. Very nice try by Wayne & nice shooting by Doug. Doug continues to hold on to 3rd place, 10 points behind the leader Joe.

Table #10: #5 Walt Wnuk vs #6 Ray Ressler Ray got off to a decent start with a few errant shots by Walt in the 8 Ball Set to take a 2 games to 0 lead early. Things seemed to change for the better for Walt as he nailed a break and run in the 3rd game of the set and backed it up winning game 4. Ray got on the hill winning game 5 and then watched his chance disappear

as Walt came right back with some nice shooting and safety play to win games 6 & 7 and the set, 4 games to 3. Walt continued to shoot decent and nailed a 3-9 combo to start the 9 Ball Set. After nailing a win in game 2, Ray nailed a win in game 3. Walt had things going on the combo’s and closed out the 4th game quickly with a 1-9 combination. Ray won game 5 to cut the gap to 1 game. Walt wasted no time and nailed a win in game 6 to finish off the set. Walt continued to dominate and won game one in the 10 Ball Set, nailed a 10 on the break in game 2 before Ray found a 5-10 combo in game 3. Walt finished off the set winning games 4 & 5 for the sweep. Walt wins the match 15 to 6 for Ray. Nice try by Ray and good shooting by Walt.
