This project was to explore the direct relationship between light and space, as well as material. Using multiples of a common household object I was to design a light. My light features soda pull tabs with a soda can base. The tabs are held together with thin wire making them adjustable. The result is a unique a light which cast’s unique shadows on the wall.
Cabin Framing This cabin framing project was to better understand light wood framing systems used in typical American houses. I had to design and construct a cabin in the wood with specific features specified by the users. The cabin needed a loft area, two exterior doors, a deck overlooking a nearby lake, and a slanted roof. My design accommodates all these features, as well as a sturdy structure, which a skin may be placed over in the future.

Designer Showroom: Kate Spade This designer showroom was a project developed and carried out while I was studying abroad in Rome. I drew inspiration from the world famous Italian designers and they’re strong presence in Rome.. I applied the prominence of Italian designers to an American designer in a Kate Space show room. Kate spade is a colorful designer well known amongst young women. She uses bright colors, stripes, and reflective materials in her designs, making them memorable and fun therefore wanted to make a show room to reflect. I made Kate space iconic stripes a 3d element throughout the space, made of resin they reflect light the same way patent leather does. This spaces mimics Kate space pieces, while displaying them to buyers.

ACSA/AISC STEEL COMPETITION: PUNGGOL BORDER CROSSING
This project was an entry for the 2014 ACSA/AISC Steel competition. The competition requirements were to design a sustainable border crossing station in a country of our choice. The project was completed in teams of three collaborating with the architecture program. My teams building location was the border between Singapore and Malaysia. Both are hot humid countries surrounded by ocean. To make the building sustainable we looked to vernacular architecture and designed the building around movement and layering.
