As his twitter account says “Modern luxury, indelible style and an astute sense of glamour “, Prabal Gurung isn’t just an ordinary designer. Our cover photo shows off his style and color scheme. With unthinkable patters, who can compete with this five year collection? Many probably don’t know much about Prabal but he was born in Singapore and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal. He went to New Delhi to begin his design career. He later moved to New York and attended Parsons The New School for Design. For two years he worked with Cynthia Rowley's design and production teams. He was appointed design director at Bill Blass soon after Cynthia Rowley. He stayed with Bill Blass for five years before launching his own collection, Prabal Gurung. Target announced its partnership with PRABAL GURUNG as the 2013 designer collaborator. To Follow Prabal Gurung scan the QR code on the left or follow him at @Prabal Gurung

Twitter Convos with Famous Designers I had the privilege to have twitter conversations with Nina Garcia, Nanette Lepore, and Nicole Miller. They discussed with me topics from New York Fashion Week to Valentine’s advice. It started with Nina Garcia, I asked her what can we expect this fall in stores? “Neon, great outerwear”, she stated, “I'm very much obsessed with the great coats we have seen this season... all the technicolor coats! We saw beautiful coats everywhere: from Alexander Wang, to Altuzarra, Michael Kors, Calvin. It seems that pastels are transitioning to fall (from spring): pink, peach, lilac, turquoise like in MarcJacobs. Obsessed with the fringe I saw in Michael Kors.” At this time Nanetter Lepore chimed in saying, “I love a pop of color on a fall day”. With that she attached the photo to the left. Nicole Miller was taking all kinds of Valentine’s advice. One she specifically told me was, “the right guy will come to you eventually.. and he will appreciate your amazing style” Much thanks to her for making women feel amazing, with her styles and words.
Dancing Queens Dance is a big part of Art, Expressing yourself with your body and its movements. Although many cannot see its beauty, may do appreciate the quality of dance through many ways including ballet, TV’s Dance Moms, and musicals. Many competitive dancers practice daily to win the number one spot, but only one can win. Many styles of dance gives a lot of different categories for competition. From Jazz to hip hop to Irish step, anyone can compete. The question will remain who will win in which category? It depends which category do you want to view? All or just one? You’ll just have to wait and see and your dancing crave will be relieved.
Music’s top 10 this week! Katy Perry is number one on the charts again this week with the addicting song Dark Horse featuring Juicy J. Coming in second is Pharrell with Happy, who jumped from last week’s position number 8. Moving only one spot up is Jason Derulo with Talk Dirty featuring 2 Chainz. A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera moved from 7 to 4 with Say Something. With soft sounds number 5 is Let Her Go by passenger. Moving down includes Timber to 6, Counting stars to 7, and Drunk in love to 8. Lord coming in at 9 with Team, And Pompeii coming in last but never least at 10.
Behind the Scenes of Fashion Week This week I was invited to the closing show at Fashion week. I know you’re thinking it had to be amazing, right? Well I must admit, it was awesome. I wore a Forever 21 peter pan collared shirt, with high waisted American Eagle pants, and a Jones New York blazer (pictured to the right). My boots (because it was disgusting out) was Rampage with spikes. The show was amazing; FTL Moda put together a great production. With many collections including Renato Balestra, Nino Lettieri, Kokler, and maria greca roma, I see many great designs for Fall 2014. Nothing will beat the creativity I’ve seen this week. Hopefully I will get the opportunity to go again, but I am grateful for this once in a lifetime chance!
