Blue / Green Infrastructure Design Above ground - Green roof on vertical structures, i.e. pavilions and covered walkways - Extra rainwater on green roof diverted to ground level through concealed downpipes - Enhance infiltration/ percolation - Allow water purification - Reduce pressure to drainage system
Ground level: Permeable pavers - Reduce surface runoff - Enhance infiltration - Reduce pressure Kerb planters /Bio-swales - Increase interception and evapotranspiration to regulate micro-climate - Regulate and reduce surface runoff
Ground level: Retention ponds/ Rain gardens - Allow longer infiltration - Temporarily store water - Allow diversified vegetation, i.e. drought resistant/ flood tolerant species - Low maintenance requirements

GRANITE - British Consulate-General Hong Kong

Critical Review
Elements in Relation Site : Wetland Park, Tin Shui Wai, Hong Kong
The water feature itself has different color of granite with the British consulate. However, the height of two granites flushed with their levels and seal the in-between space with metal stripe for hiding the joining parts.

Wood Decking
Hardwood Top Rail
In the upper of water feature there are channels for water out which were also made of same granite. The upper granite parts are exceed the below glass window therefore the water will not flow directly through the glass. It can prevent the leakage problem between the joint of glass/ stainless steel edge and granite.
Stainless Steel Railing
Lower Walkway
The concrete paving is placed after the construction of water feature by the observation of edge and cutting of pavings.

Paving Details
The casted steel drain is too adjacent to the water feature thus lowers the grandness of the water feature.
Granite in this case is enduring both the natural cycles of weathering because it has pH balance of the water so it does not affect the granite in long period of time.
