Fitness for Travelers

You’ve planned your adventure, made travel arrangements and happily anticipate a great trip ahead. NOW is the time to get realistic about acquiring the strength and flexibility needed to optimize your experience. Join a class designed to boost your capabilities and confidence while on the road. Climbing stairs to reach that restaurant, wrangling luggage, hiking to get to a tantalizing viewpoint or just navigating safely on paving stones and less-than-level terrain can be more physically demanding than we anticipate. We’ll work specifically on leg, back and arm strength, while simulating conditions that you’ll run into on the road. Expect to feel your core musculature and its connection to your enhanced power and agility. Learn a concise and effective warm up to start your day strong. Participants will be highly encouraged to walk daily and practice throughout the week to maximize progress. Your instructor is a traveler, hiker and Pilates instructor with 16 years of experience. You’ll need a mat, three-, four- or five-pound hand weights and good walking shoes. Expect to bring your weighted suitcase to the final couple of classes. 7218 4/11/2020 - 5/2/2020 9:30 - 11:00AM 4 ses Sa Mattheiss CC Bldg Room 1456 $115
