Learning SPACE has been creating sensory spa since 2007, providing a completely unique sens experience and specialist provisions to those w seek it.
In this catalogue you will find a range of sens equipment and structures designed with your gu sensory needs in mind All of our sensory rooms are built to enable the user to relax, unwind and have fun in a safe and enriching environment - exactly what is needed on vacation.

Our Story
Learning SPACE was set up in 2007, by sisters Lorraine (teacher) and Mary (social worker). They felt parents, teachers, therapists and especially children deserved better when it came to accessing resources and sharing of knowledge, hence Learning SPACE was born. The main spark came from supporting their amazing sister, Emma, who has Soto Syndrome

Our dedicated team of advisors are highly skilled in this field and come with a wealth of experience and qualifications. From teaching and social services experience to real life experience supporting family members with special educational needs or indeed have a special educational need themselves. They are passionate and driven to make a positive impact on children's lives

Why add a Sensory Space to your Care Home?
Sensory areas were once traditionally thought of as spaces for children but that is no longer the case in recent years these rooms have had a profound effect in care homes as well

What is a sensory room for?
We love to think of sensory rooms as ‘Time for Me’ rooms - filled with all the things that ignite and stimulate, or switch off and relax your senses.
For residents, a sensory room can be an invaluable addition to their days, being away from family and friends in a unfamiliar environment can be very stressful, lonely and daunting,
By offering a range of sensory opportunities, this enables the individual to explore and meet their sensory needs through regulation - which will in turn, offer a balanced calmness and quality to their regular daily activities
Even if only for a temporary time, residents are leaving behind their home, their routine, their comforts and familiarity. For many, this can cause distress and anxiety - feelings of being overwhelmed in a crowded unfamiliar place, surrounded by strangers, can be quite unsettling This in turn can also impact the rest of the family and their home dynamic
Therefore, we believe that creating areas for residents to spend their time, an area filled with comfortable seating, relaxing sounds, dim lighting and full of textures and stimulating activities, this will help regulate the residents sensory needs and will bring comfort to the individual, staff and family and friends throughout their stay.
For many residents, a care home stay can mean working on their social skills to develop deeper connections - making new friends who they can interact and have fun with Building these relationships can enhance their stay and experience.
