Course Outline Introduction to Lean
Course Objectives This course is an introduction to Lean theory and practice. Participants will become familiar with key foundational elements of Lean – such as concepts of Lean, basic tools and techniques, voice of the customer, value, waste, the integration of Lean culture, and Kaizen. Present-day Agile and Kanban theoretical and practical underpinnings are rooted in Lean, and participants will learn about the relationship that Agile and Kanban have with Lean. This class incorporates case studies that are customized for CIS staff. The case studies describe real-life process challenges encountered by some CIS teams, and are used to teach and practice Lean concepts and tools during the course.
