Le Book's Connections event in Paris last month showed its usual strong selection of creative photographers brimming with good ideas for fashion and beauty campaigns. Le Book has carved out a strong reputation, through its events in New York, Paris and London, for bringing together good photographers who should appeal to marketers across a broad spread of indurty sectors - fashion, beauty, interiors, retail, youth and more. The Paris event in April was up to the usual standard, with WGSN impressed by the mixture of styles from high-gloss to gritty realism, laidback insouciance to in-your-face energy. We loved some of the illustrators' work that Connections showcased too and were particularly impressed by Finland's Sanna Paananen.

The possibility to eat fashion is very appealing to the viewer, it goes into your system, into your blood, in a way it becomes part of you. Therefore when you pair candy treats and fashion icons such as Chanel or YSL it triggers a reaction into your palate, into your brain. I handcrafted each piece, I used real candy for this project." www.gammacurta.com
