Eine Tür, die aus ihrem konventionellen Kontext gerissen völlig frei in der Landschaft steht, bemächtigt sich der Aufgabe, den angrenzenden Außenraum sichtbar zu machen. Passiert man eine Türe, geschieht etwas in einem. Man betritt und verlässt im selben Moment den – in unserem Falle – trivialen Raum, der durch die Intervention des Künstlers zusätzliche Ebenen bekommt. Ein subtiles Spiel, das zu neuen Perspektiven verführt.
A door can signal very many things. It can suggest comfort and protection as well as a welcome openness, but can equally represent an insurmountable obstacle. Something happens when you go through a door, as you always leave one space and simultaneously enter a new one.

Kunst im alpinen Kontext Liebe Gäste, wir freuen uns, Ihnen für die kommenden zwei Sommersaisonen (2018/2019) das Kunstprojekt „Türe“ am Grünen Ring vorzustellen. Hierfür konnten wir 9 internationale Künstler und Gestalter für das Projekt gewinnen, die jeweils eine Tür gestalteten. Der Grüne Ring ist eine 3-tägige Wanderroute von Lech über den Rüfikopf nach Zürs, von Zürs über den Zürsersee und das Madlochjoch nach Zug und von Zug über die Balmalp und Oberlech wieder nach Lech. Dieses Projekt entstand unter der künstlerischen Leitung von Daniel Nikolaus Kocher. Die 9 Künstler wurden von der Lech Zürs Tourismus GmbH eingeladen, sich Gedanken über das Verlassen oder das Betreten von Außenräumen über virtuelle Grenzen und Linien zu machen. Hierfür wurden im Frühjahr 2017 weiße Türen in die Ateliers der Gestalter gebracht, die sozusagen als weiße Leinwand fungierten. Diese Türen wurden auf den drei Etappen des Grünen Rings aufgestellt. Je drei Türen pro Etappe wurden am 22.07.2017 im Rahmen der Vernissage aufgestellt. Für drei Jahre, 2017, 2018 und 2019, werden die Türen jeweils von Mitte Juni bis Mitte Oktober am Grünen Ring zu sehen sein. HERMANN FERCHER

Art in alpine context Dear guests, we are looking forward to present you the art project “door” along the Green Ring route for summer 2018 and 2019. Nine international artists and designers were selected to create respectively one door. The Green Ring route is a 3 stage hiking tour over the Rüfikopf to Zürs, along the lake Zürsersee and pass Madloch to Zug and further to the Balmalp and Oberlech back to Lech. The art director of “door” is Daniel Nikolaus Kocher. In total nine artists were selected by Lech Zürs Tourism to think about entering and leaving spaces, including virtual boarders and rooms. White doors were delivered to the workshops of the artists and designed individually. In summer 2017, each stage of the Green Ring route got three doors, including an open-door vernissage on 22th of July 2017. You can visit the doors in summer 2018 and 2019 on your hiking tour along the Green Ring route between mid of June and mid of October. HERMANN FERCHER

Das Projekt „Türe“ – Kunstinstallation am Grünen Ring 9 Künstler aus 5 verschiedenen Nationen haben jeweils eine Türe gestaltet und direkt an der GrünerRing-Wanderroute auf über 2000 Meter Seehöhe verteilt platziert. Die Wanderung kann in 3 Tagesetappen gegliedert werden. Das Zusammenspiel von Berg und Kunst schafft dabei einen stimmigen Kontext. Im Winter werden die Türen vom Berg in das Tal gebracht und werden bei den jeweiligen Türpaten ausgestellt.

An exhibition along the Green Ring route, where nine artists from five different countries designed a door each and placed their doors at different points along the hiking route, more than 2000 metres above sea level. During winter, the doors are removed from the mountains to the valley and are exhibited at the respective door sponsor.

Der Künstler / The artist Gottfried Bechtold (1947) Der österreichische Künstler lebt und arbeitet in Hörbranz/Vorarlberg. The Austrian artist lives and works in Bregenz and Hörbranz/Vorarlberg.
Interpretation Eine Türe hat zwei Seiten. In der Landschaft platziert kann man aber nicht unterscheiden zwischen innen und außen. Die Türe beließ ich weiß, der Türstock ist schwarz. Auch hier gibt es zwei Extreme, wie auch bei der Türe als Funktion: offen oder zu. Dadurch lassen sich menschliche Ereignisse, Bedürfnisse oder Momente als Metapher darstellen. A door has two sides. However, when it’s placed in the landscape, you can’t distinguish between inside and outside. I left the door white because the door frame is black. Here too, there are two extremes as there are with the door’s function: open or closed. This allows human events, needs or moments to be presented as a metaphor.

Die Natur ist der Hüter des Sichtbaren Nature is the guardian of the visible Der Künstler und Autor / The artist and author Patrick Kaufmann (1971) In Liechtenstein aufgewachsen, lebt und arbeitet in Murg / St. Gallen (CH). He grew up in Liechtenstein, lives and works now in Murg, St. Gallen (CH).
Interpretation Die weichen, fließenden Formen auf der ruhigen Seite der Türe scheinen direkt in den Faltenwurf des dahinterliegenden Gebirges überzugehen. Auf der anderen Seite arbeitet Kaufmann mit Spachtelmasse, Kaffeesatz und blauen Pigmenten Das entstandene Gemälde tritt in wunderbaren Dialog mit der dahinterliegenden, wilden Gesteinslandschaft. Depending on your position, the soft, flowing forms in Kaufmann’s painting seem to merge straight into the folds of the mountains behind. On the other side of the door, Kaufmann works with a different technique: filler is used to apply layer upon layer of coffee grounds and blue pigments and the resultant painting enters into a wonderful dialogue with the wild and rugged landscape behind.

Reinhold Neururer (1957) Der frühere HTL-Lehrer lebt in Tarrenz/Tirol. Former teacher for secondary technical schools, lives in Tarrenz/Tyrol.
Ein Leben ohne Anonymität im Zeitalter des Internets. Speziell von Jugendlichen wird alles Erlebte gepostet und ins World Wide Web gestellt. Dabei passieren Dinge, die sie im späteren Alter nicht mehr ungeschehen machen können, denn wie es so schön heißt: „Das Web vergisst nichts“. Jedes ungeliebte gepostete Bild kann auch noch nach Jahren ausspioniert werden. A life without anonymity in the age of the internet. This particularly applies to youngsters who post everything they experience online. In so doing, things happen that youngsters can’t undo when they are older, because as the saying goes: “The internet never forgets.” Every hated picture posted online can be found, even years later.

Interpretation Die Türe zeigt einen senkrechten Sternenhimmel. „Ich ziehe ein Stück blauen Himmel auf die Erde ...“ Es geht um die Auflösung des Raumes, es gibt kein Innen und Außen. Durch eine Vielzahl von „Spionen“ haben wir die Möglichkeit, die Umgebung von verschiedenen Blickwinkeln aus neu zu entdecken. Egal ob stehend, hockend oder liegend. The door shows a vertical starry sky. “I pull a piece of blue sky down to the ground ...” I’m concerned with the dissolution of space, there is no inside or outside. Through a number of spy holes, we have the ability to view the environment from different angles and rediscover it. Regardless of whether we are standing, crouching or lying down, we get a different view of our world.

Hrachya Vardanyan (1987) Er arbeitet und lebt nach wie vor in Gyumri (Armenien), seinem Geburtsort. He was born and lives in his birthplace Gyumri (Armenia).
Ich versuchte meine Empfindungen und meine Geschichte zu sortieren und zu artikulieren mit der Türe als Symbol. Das Biwak selbst ist ein spezieller Ort. Immer wenn jemand meine Türe öffnet, wird er die kleine Hütte am Berg sehen. Dies symbolisiert meine rastlose Suche nach einem neuen Symbol für Heimat. In the high mountains of this volcanic landscape I used to have a sense of homecoming, a sense of inner, holy landscape, calling me to my true land. The Biwak itself is a very special place; when one opens my door, he or she will see the little hut on the mountain – that is my longing, endless journey to the symbol of “home”.

Der Künstler / The Artist Daniel Nikolaus Kocher (1981) Der freischaffende Künstler lebt und arbeitet in Wenns/Tirol. The freelance artist lives and works in Wenns/Tyrol.
Interpretation Die Installation ist formal als Frage zu verstehen. Als ein Spiel mit den Seiten. Ob man draußen oder drinnen steht, eröffnet sich dem Betrachter nicht wirklich, zumal der Briefkasten schnell die Seite wechselt. Auf welcher Seite stehen Sie? The installation is technically to be considered as a question. As playing with sides. Whether you are outside or inside isn‘t really revealed to the observer, especially as the letterbox changes sides quickly. Which side are you on?

Der Künstler / The Artist Andreas Koop (1970) Der deutsche Designer und Autor lebt und arbeitet im Allgäu (D). The german graphic artist and writer lives and works in Allgäu (D).
Interpretation Was überhaupt ist der Gegensatz zu „frei“: besetzt, belegt, vergeben, verplant, verdingt, versklavt? So eine Türe an sich ist immer bereits Metapher – es gibt einen Übergang, Durchgang, ein Davor, ein Dahinter, man kann Türen zuschlagen oder öffnen. Und in der Natur, ihrer Funktion enthoben, ist sie automatisch und sofort Intervention, Störung, Irritation – eben Kunst. What is the opposite to being free: occupied, busy, taken, booked, hired, enslaved? These questions are the core concern with and, even better, through this door. So a door in itself is always already a metaphor, there is a transition, a passage, a before and after, you can close or open doors. And in nature, with its function removed, it is automatically and immediately an intervention, disturbance, irritation, simply art.

Interpretation Meine Tür steht am Kriegerhorn, unweit der Stelle, an der der Samurai einst verschwand, und wartet darauf, dass sich die Türe in die Welt der verborgenen Wesen öffnet. Berührt eine Person, die Sinn und Geduld hat für die feinen Zwischenwelten, die Türschnalle, mag es sein, dass ihr noch viele Wesen aus dem Zwischenreich der Sagen begegnen. My door stands on the Kriegerhorn, not far from the spot where the samurai once disappeared, and waits for the door to open to the world of hidden beings. If a person with the sensitivity and patience to sense the mysterious world between this world and the next, touches the door handle, that person could encounter many beings from the weird world of legends.

Lecher Jugend. Auszug und Rückkehr. Youth of Lech. Departure and return. Künstlerische Leitung / Artistic director Martina Strolz (1971) Die Grafikerin lebt in Lech und Lochau/Vorarlberg. The graphic artist lives in Lech and Lochau/Vorarlberg.
Interpretation Die Tür der Lecher Jugend, allesamt Digital Natives, öffnet auch einen weiteren Raum – den virtuellen, wo die Jugendlichen sich auf der Website www.lech-heim.at ihren Hoffnungen, Ängsten und Wünschen stellen. Die Jugend von Lech macht sich also direkt und indirekt mit ihrer Berufswahl auch Gedanken, ob sie ihre Zukunft in Lech verbringen kann. The door for Lech’s youngsters, all of them digital natives, also opens out on to a wider space – the virtual world, where the youngsters can visit the website www.lech-heim.at to express their hopes, fears and desires. The aim is for it to continue to grow and be full of life. However, the website is also a call to Lech‘s local politicians not to loose sight of the youngsters’ wishes and needs if they would like them to return one day.
