Limitless skiing fun!
Today, this pioneering spirit can still be found at the A rlberg. With the opening of the Flexenbahn cable way between Zürs and Stuben/Rauz, Ski Arlberg has recently reached another milestone. With the help of this link, skiers can now reach all skiing locations on the Arlberg simply and conveniently on skis. An average of 9 metres of snowfall each winter and about 70 percent of mechanically covered pistes make the St. Anton, St. Christoph, Stuben, Zürs, Lech, Schröcken and Warth area one of the most reliable in terms of snow conditions. In Austria‘s largest skiing resort – and one of the five largest skiing areas worldwide – skiers can explore 305 downhill skiing kilometres, 200 kilometres of deep snow skiing and 88 lifts and cable ways, as well as the spectacular Run of Fame skiing round.

The Arlberg has always been known for its pioneering spirit when it comes to winter sports – Hannes Schneider revolutionised the skiing technique known as the Arlberg school of skiing; in 1937, Austria‘s first T-bar lift was built in Zürs, and the Galzigbahn cable car in St. Anton was the first cable car designed for winter operation. These and other innovations made the Arlberg famous as the cradle of Alpine skiing.

Note: the yellow post buses between St. Anton / St. Christoph (free-of-charge section) and Lech Zürs require payment. Tariff conditions
(General terms and conditions) The conditions of conveyance of the respective ski lift or cable car apply, in particular also those for children. Control and abuse: The validity of the ski passes is checked at the base stations via the card readers. Ski passes and evidence of entitlements for special tariffs (e.g. ID cards) must be shown to our control personnel if requested to do so. Checks are carried out throughout the ski resorts at all times – the identity of ski pass holders will be checked against the photograph (images stored). Ski passes are not transferable. Lost ski passes and ski passes which have not been purchased at the ticket booths or hotels are barred at the readers. It is not possible to exchange ski passes for passes of a different kind or to change the period of validity. Any use of passes that is contrary to these terms and conditions results in immediate forfeiture of the ski pass and payment of a penalty (at least twice the day pass rate at the normal main season tariff). We reserve the right to press criminal charges. In the case of infringement of the conditions of conveyance, failure to observe the closure of ski slopes (due to avalanche risk or other safety factors) or the prohibition of skiing in wooded areas or the FIS regulations, the person will be barred from conveyance. In serious cases, the ski pass will be confiscated and an offence reported to the authorities. Information in accordance with § 24 DSG 2000: please note that for the purpose of access control, a reference photograph of the ski pass holder is taken when first passing a turnstile equipped with a camera. The lift personnel will compare this reference photograph with those photographs that are produced when skiers pass turnstiles that are equipped with a camera. The reference photo will be deleted after the expiry of the ski pass. Lost ski passes: In general, these will not be replaced. The loss of a ski pass (from 3 days validity), whose owner has been recorded by name (personalised Arlberg-Card), can be reported at our ticket booths. Upon production of the receipt and proof of identity (ID card) it is possible to bar lost passes at the access points and to obtain a replacement pass, subject to payment of a processing fee. Without evidence of purchase it is not possible to issue any replacement cards. Refunds: Refunds are only possible in the case of skiing accidents for passes with a validity period of at least 2 days. Refunds will be granted from the day following the day the pass was last used or from the day following the accident, at the earliest. Normally, no refunds are made when the ski pass was again used after the accident. The cash receipt and a doctor’s certificate from a local doctor from the
Ski Arlberg App The app delivers all information from the skiing area directly to your smartphone – available free of charge from App Store and Google Play. In addition, you can use the app to track your completed skiing kilometres, and thereby participate in a unique competition with prizes.
Arlberg region must be submitted. Refunds are made as follows: in Lech at the ski pass centre (Rüfikopf valley station), in Oberlech at the Petersbodenbahn, in Zürs at the Trittkopfbahn, in St. Anton, St. Christoph and Stuben at the main ticket booths and in Warth-Schröcken at all ticket booths (no refund for accompanying persons). No entitlement to refunds or extensions arises when ski passes cannot be used for the following reasons: bad weather, risk of avalanches, breakdown of ski lifts/cable cars, barring of slopes, illness, injury, early departure etc. Limitation of sale of ski passes: For safety reasons we reserve the right to limit the sale of ski passes for short periods when the available pistes are likely to become overcrowded. In such cases we ask for your understanding. At the beginning and end of the season, skiing may be restricted. Fun sport facilities: The usability of some of these facilities may be restricted at times. This does not establish an entitlement for a refund or extension. These facilities may only be used by those who are practiced. The complete tariff conditions (available at any ski pass ticket booth and at www.skiarlberg.at), price lists and the terms and conditions of conveyance approved by the authorities form part of the conveyance contract. By purchasing a travel permit, passengers accept the terms and conditions and undertake to comply with them. Austrian law applies. Members of SKI ARLBERG operate their respective cable cars and ski lifts, as well as ski pistes and ski routes, independently and under their own legal responsibility. The purchase of a travel permit for the SKI ARLBERG ski resort entitles passengers to use the skiing areas included in SKI ARLBERG. However, the actual conveyance contract is only constituted with the operating company of the cable car, ski lift, ski pistes and ski routes which the passenger is using at the time. For this reason, any liability to passengers for incidents arising during the operation or use of the cable car or ski lift, ski pistes and ski routes, owing to contractual or legal provisions, will only affect those cable car or ski lift companies responsible for the area where the incident occurred. Any other cable car or ski lift companies in the SKI ARLBERG region are not liable.

Sledging run
Lech-Oberlech: 1.2 km long sledging run with lighting and snow cannons from Oberlech to Lech. Open all day from 09:00–22:00 h. Sledges can be hired at Bergbahn Oberlech; St. Anton Gampen: 4.3 km long nature sledging run with lighting, to Nasserein, open daily from 12:00–16:15 h, Tuesdays and Thursdays: night sledging from 19:30–21:30 h; Warth: “von der Höhi” in Warth, 700 m long and illuminated every day.
Ski pistes are signed and prepared if possible; they are checked and secured against atypical alpine dangers, especially avalanches. Piste: easy Piste: medium
Piste: difficult
Ski routes are signed and only secured against the risk of avalanches; they are not, or not all, prepared and are not checked. Ski route Skiroute: extreme
For information on the current piste conditions see the panoramic boards at the cable car stations. Piste and ski route signs: = closed = open
= yellow flashing light: Outside the safeguarded ski runs there is a risk of avalanches, grade 4 (= SEVERE) or 5 (= VERY SEVERE). = orange flashing light: piste machines in operation
Closed pistes and avalanche blasting: It is forbidden and a chargeable offence to enter closed ski pistes and ski routes. It is not permitted, without exception, to enter forested areas and walk or sledge on pistes. From the last checking run, immediately after the last ascent, pistes and ski routes are closed due to the danger from piste vehicles and cable winches. Caution! No safety cordons! When there is a risk of avalanches do not use closed runs. In order to safeguard their own safety, people entering tours outside the safeguarded and open ski slopes are responsible for obtaining information about blasting from the Management. Caution: During and after fresh snow falls there will be avalanche blasting in the area - risk of avalanches! Avoid areas with avalanche risk at these times! Information at the lower stations. Ski accidents: In the case of an accident, please report this as exactly as possible, using the emergency call point, nearest lift
station or designated call point. For the telephone numbers for the piste rescue service for the respective area refer to the information block. The piste rescue service is chargeable. Piste preparation: The use of piste machines, also while the pistes are in operation, cannot be avoided. Please be sure to keep a safe distance from these machines. Do not cross below piste vehicles on steep slopes as these may accidentally slip down. Where the view is restricted, in narrow passages or on cat-tracks apply extra care because piste vehicles may come the other way. Fresh snow: The Arlberg lifts and cable cars are well known for their effort to offer perfect piste conditions every day. However, after fresh snow falls it is unfortunately not always possible to prepare all pistes at the same time, even with maximum deployment of piste equipment. Furthermore, in certain weather conditions fresh snow will not attach itself to the older snow covering below and will slide
about to form heaps and bumps, in spite of the preparation work. This cannot be prevented, even with the best piste management. For the sake of your own safety please observe the FIS rules!
